Superb toddler crayons
I actually gave a lot of thought to spending this much money on a set of crayons for a 1 year old, but these crayons are worth every penny! They come in a really nice plastic box (which we always put them back into). They are obviously triangular, so they will not roll off your table. These crayons are also stronger somehow than their crayola equivalents (they are also thicker). They have no pesky paper on them (for someone to tear off in little pieces...) yet they remarkably resist breaking. I can't tell you how many times these have been dropped from the highchair to the tile floor below with no breakage whatsoever (we have been using for roughly a year). My little one even likes just playing with them (and not coloring). Since they are a little harder than other crayons, I do find that a couple of the colors don't color as vibrantly as other brands, notably the pink. They are also not marked as "washable" but we have not had any problems with that aspect either. Overall, this is a nice, durable set of crayons that may actually last until you have used up the whole crayon.

Fun for toddlers
These are excellent crayons for a toddler to use! Big enough to grasp easily, writes well and smoothly, love that they're triangular so they don't roll around, and especially love the case. My toddler had more fun putting them in and out of the case than actually drawing with them..... The colors aren't super vibrant as Crayola crayons - the red especially looks more orange than red - but still happy with the set!

Don’t break easy
Seem to hold up really well. My son throws them a lot and they haven’t broken as easily as regular crayons. I’d def consider buying them again.

Great product but two small complaints
These crayons are really very nice; we've been using them for about a month now almost every day. I agree with previous reviewers that they must not be tasty because my 14-month-old daughter who still puts everything in her mouth doesn't chew on them (much). They are a good size for baby hands, and the triangle shape is great. None of them have broken although several have been stepped on (by child and adult) and they've all been violently thrown many times. We haven't had any trouble with getting good strong color out of them (the plastic vs. wax debate), even though she's a novice colorer. My only complaints are small ones -- 1) the pink crayon is completely invisible on kraft paper, so for us and I imagine a lot of people it's totally useless (and frustrating!). It would be great if they replaced it with a darker or different color. And 2) the box they come in, while mostly very nice, is a little fiddly to open when it's snapped shut. My daughter can't get it open at all, and I have to come at it just right to get it.

Perfect for little hands!
These crayons are great. They don't get all over their hands when coloring, they're strong and don't break like other triangular crayons do. And the container they come is is awesome! Even when the little ones help you pick up the crayons just automatically fall in to place! My only complaint is that the colors are not very vivid. Little ones just learning to color don't press down very hard so the color can be pretty faint. And the red crayon is more like a light orange. Minor complaints. My grandson LOVES these.

These crayons are….weird?
(Summary at bottom, if you don’t want to read the whole review) The good- I love the case because it’s easy for my toddler to place and remove the crayons himself. The triangle crayon shape is easy for little fingers and hands to hold and drawn with. The weird- these are the strangest ‘crayons’ I’ve ever colored with. They aren’t really crayons, but more like giant colored pencils. They don’t color smoothly like normal crayons, they have a dry feeling while coloring. It’s just odd because I was expecting crayons, but they really aren’t crayons at all. The other thing is some of the colors are not what they appear to be when on paper. It’s very strange because the colors are really completely different: The red ‘crayon’ actually draws a rust color on paper, no red in it at all - yet the crayon actually looks bright red. Orange is almost yellow on paper, it hardly looks orange. The navy blue and black are pretty much undistinguishable, until on paper. The red and orange are way off from how they appear on paper - way off. Meaning it could be (and likely will be) confusing for a toddler learning colors. Especially when they pick up a red or orange crayon and it draws a completely different color than it appears. To sum it up - I wouldn’t purchase these again based on the dry feeling when coloring, lack of color applied while coloring, and the odd color representation of what color they actually make on paper/how they appear.

Great crayons for the toddler set!
Our almost 3 year old great granddaughter loves to color but the first thing she does is take the paper off of the crayons. The cardboard boxes seldom hold up to her stuffing the crayons back in and they often get broken. These, however, don't have any paper to begin with - hooray! And, they are very sturdy for little hands. The triangular shape seems easier to hold that round crayons and the box is a little masterpiece. Very well made and heavy plastic although the clasp is too difficult for little fingers (which may not be a bad thing). There are 10 different colors and they are vibrant and mark easily with only a little pressure. We definitely recommend them.

Amazing crayons!
These crayons are the best! I tell all the other moms I know about them. My daughter first got this set of crayons when she was about 15 months old. We've had them about a year, coloring with them nearly everyday, and not a single one has broken! The triangular shape is great because they don't roll off the table. They're very easy for little hands to hold. I'm not sure if this is a property of the crayons themselves or just my walls, but we've had a few episodes of crayon on the walls and carpet, and it has always cleaned right up with a wet cloth and maybe a little 409. My only complaint is that the pink is so pale, you really can't see it. My daughter loves pink (of course), but when she picks up the pink crayon to color, she's always disappointed because she can hardly see it on the paper.

Perfect crayons for little hands!
My toddler loves these Melissa & Doug Jumbo Triangular Crayons! The triangular shape makes them easy for little hands to grip, and they don’t roll off the table like regular crayons. The colors are bright and vibrant, and the flip-top case keeps them organized and easy to take on the go. They’re sturdy too my kid presses hard and they don’t break easily. Great quality and perfect for young artists!
