Q: Is this basically a water gun or spray bottle? It seems like a lot to pay for this if that's all it is with a couple of small designs.

The fuse gun is more of a fine mist. a water gun or typical squirt bottle would not be the same type spray or spray them evenly.

Q: Are the colors of the 500 cubes shown here, or are they random? I really need blue.

I think there is only one blue cube. They give you exactly the colors to make the figures pictured. You would probably need a refill kit to get blue.

Q: How many times will I need to spray the qixles with the water blaster to get them to stick well?

sometimes we had to spray them 3-4 times, but the real trick, is letting them dry overnight or longer depending on the size.
