The Unit has some weight to it but makes it feel like it's quality
Update 2016May7: I used some rubber washers that I found at lowes to put behind the mounting holes of the unit and now you can only hear the buzzing if you're standing directly in front of it trying to hear it. So far this has been in production for about a month now, and i haven't had any reason to worry. Works 100% as expected thus far. I have also posted a picture of what the actual unit looks like. I have added a Volt meter in the front of mine so I know what is going on so don't expect that when you order one. The unit is indeed plastic. The EMT holes are a considerable distance from anything you might be mounting it to so you'll need to bend pipe to get it in these holes. I drilled new ones lower for a cleaner install. The Unit has some weight to it but makes it feel like it's quality. There is a low buzzing coming from the unit. Nothing too crazy but a buzz none the less. I've only had the unit in operation for about 24 hours so far. I will post an update should I have any issues. This unit will be in operation 24/7 from here on.

Great price
Was exact replacement at a much better price. I originally bought a replacement contactor but this was much easier replacement

Good Purchase.
The original one of these on my 1993 Winnebago Elante fried during power surges as we had our recent winter storms. No one local had this item in stock and Camping World wanted $180 for theirs which they would have to order. I was able to get this item with my Amazon Prime not only at a cheaper rate than CW but also quicker. My electrician installed it in under an hour and I've had zero issues. Seems to be working GREAT. I've been running on shore power with it since the install. If we try it on Generator power and have issues, I'll update the review.

Punch outs
So far it works great but the plastic box sucks and the punch outs to connect conduit to it suck. For one they don't have half inch it's 3/4 larger? Cuz that was a problem I couldn't connect anything without getting adapters

NOT a combination Surge Supressor and Automatic Transfer Switch!
I bought this because it's supposed to be a surge suppressor and an automatic transfer switch. I looked inside the box when it came and it looked like a regular transfer switch. So I went to the website of the manufacturer - name has changed to Southwire - and their website says this 40100 automatic transfer switch is NOT a combo surge suppressor and transfer switch -- See photo from their site; So this seller is providing false information here. I'm sending this back!

I was going to use this for my transfer switch for an emergency panel in my house with the emergency source as a solar inverter. The issue is that it would require one of the relays to be energized all of the time thus burning electricity for the transfer functionality....which may only be required once every couple of years. I think I will stick with my manual transfer switch.
