Quality craftsmanship, the metal is sturdy and nice. The design is very elegant. We had trouble finding a quality mail box, they was only cheap selection at the hardware store. I spay painted black the visiible hardware (screws heads). After I ordered this, I messaged them via Amazon about the brass house numbers and they shipped those to me separately, arriving a day before the mailbox did which was nice. The brass numbers are a great quality and came with preinstalled 3M double stick tape. I was glad to see they used 3M brand so that the numbers will stay put for years and not fall off. In my experience 3M is the only brand tape that lasts. The installation was a little hard for my skill level but I was glad to see they have an informative install video on YouTube. I personally installed just the post first and then assembled the various parts of the mailbox onto the mailbox after the original post was set in concrete. The only con to doing it this way was I put the post about 10 inches back from the street and the open end of the mailbox ended up about 1.5 to 2 inches further into the street than I prefer. I would suggest testing your hole distance from the street better than I did to achieve a better result. My neighbors already commented how nice this mail box is and it definitely feels like the highest end mail box product on the market. Thank you for a great quality product! Question for seller; It seems I lost or 2 of the tiny set screws used to hold in the decorative base, how can I obtain more from you? Currently the decrotive base is only held by 1 set screw.

This is a great looking product. When it comes in the box you will not like the appearance of the center pipe set up. Once it is put together and the elegant bottom half is slid over the center pipe it looks awesome. It is like you went back to Victorian elegance. It looks like an old cast iron unit and very solid. The big box stores have nothing like this. Note, it takes two, not one, bags of cement to secure it. You simply dig a hole so the bottom of the mailbox will be in line with the instructions (41 to 45 inches?). I think it was a little over a foot deep hole (14 inches). Pour in two bags of cement (mixed in a bucket) and place the center post in after you attach one bolt to it. I didn't have to brace it, just used a level on it and it didn't move. The company's customer service is absolutely incredible and probably the best I have seen. Any problems like a missing part or a missed sale price was resolved immediately. I wish the instruction sheet was bigger though as I needed my reading glasses to see it.

I had to purchase a new mailbox and stand after our neighbor took ours out when he turned the corner. I wanted to replace the original one with one that looked the most like our previous mailbox due to HOA and keeping inline with the overall aesthetic of our neighborhood. Apparently Addresses of distinction (AOD) realized this is a common thing and I believe jumped their prices up to reflect it (just my guess, no actual proof). I liked everything about the mailbox except the price of it. I had a similar one picked out for a hundred dollars cheaper. The only reason I didn’t choose it was because I wasn’t sure if it was able to be placed in the ground or if you had to stabilize it some other way. So here’s another way in which AOD graded above everyone else is their clear description in their ad for the mailbox. When it arrived, it was easy to assemble, had clear instructions and was relatively packed well. I didn’t see where the advertisement stated it supplied the street numbers or skipped over that part and I didn’t have to specialize my order to put the address numbers in, but they did supply them. There was a note in the package that takes you to a link to their company where I put these numbers in. They arrived in only two business days. I loved the fact that they included two sets and they already had them aligned for me and on transfer tape. It took me no time to get them placed on the box. The box and stand seem sturdy enough. I like the size of it as well. I would have given this mailbox 5 stars had it not been for having to pay as much as I did for it. In order to replace my mailbox from an unplanned accident, I paid $403 total for this mailbox and a bag of setting compound to secure it in the ground (including tax). I was honestly expecting to pay around $250. Thankfully I believe in a rainy day fund because I certainly had to depend on it. I’ll update later after it’s been used a bit to see if I increase my fifth star or bring it down to three.

I seldom write reviews (sorry!), but I just had to for this purchase. I am TOTALLY pleased with the Hampton Aluminum Mailbox and Post System. I got a call from a very nice lady at The Mailbox Guys after I placed the order to confirm the numbers for the number plate. What a nice feature that the number plate arrives with the numbers on it. I was thinking I would have to apply them. It arrived in two shipments (pole in one, mailbox, etc. in another). Everything was very well packed for shipping. The tear out of the old mailbox and the installation of the new was less than an hour. Just follow their step-by-step directions for an easy installation and a beautiful end result.

Did not come with a mail box, numbers, or a way to secure it to the ground. I’m not sure if it was a shipping error or just bad advertising. Post itself was quite nice but without being a complete kit not worth the money.
