I've installed a lot of screen protectors and this one was the smoothest yet. It comes with everything you need - wipes, dust stickers, alignment tools, and the little card to push the bubbles out, which I always appreciate when a brand includes instead of making you find a credit card. The install came out clean, no bubbles, no dust trapped. And once it was on, the matte finish really popped - the screen looks great, glare is gone, and it has a nice feel under the finger, not slippery like plain glass. Very happy with it.

Working great for drawing! No issues with scratching, but on the contrary, the texture does grind down metal apple pencil nibs! Surprisingly it doesnt seem to do the same to generic plastic ones??? Great with avoiding harsh glare, the edges are smooth and rounded, it was very easy to apply, and I had no issue with air bubbles! It comes with an applicator, alcohol pads, a screen cloth, and dust remover stickers that were all super useful! If it's your first time applying one of these please please please watch a video first!!! It's very important to work on a clean surface and follow each step for the longevity of the protector! Overall loving it, and I'm excited to see how long this one lasts! (Screen protector has not been wiped down from regular use in the included photos, the marks you see on the 2nd image do wipe off, it's my pencil nib shedding 💔)

Previously, I had a MOTHCA screen protector for my 2018 iPad Pro 12.9”, and I loved it. It was satisfactory enough for me as an artist that I never felt the need to shell out $50+ on textured films that offered no protection but only feel. Though I can’t speak on other Apple Pencil tips, the regular tip never wore out drawing on this thing and I never noticed any lag. MOTHCA made my screen look and feel more premium. Now that I have an M1 11 inch Pro three years later I’m pleased to see MOTHCA is still here and still the same quality at a cheaper price point! Putting it on was easy and all bubbles disappeared in a day. If you’re an artist or gamer too and looking for a budget matte screen protector, go get this one.

I liked that the screen protector was relatively easy to install, especially with the included frame. Any bubbles left under the screen were easy to push out the sides. The screen protector itself is smooth and satisfying to the touch. It doesn’t eliminate 100% of fingerprinting as it’s still possible to create smudges on the screen, but it definitely still reduces the amount of fingerprints left. The only con is that it makes the tiny RGB channels of the screen more visible, almost like a noise filter. It doesn’t obstruct the visibility of what’s on the screen, it’s just noticeable. Overall I love the feel of this screen protector and it gives me peace of mind that I won’t break my iPad!

[REVIEW UPDATE] — I have been buying Mothca screen protectors for a while now and they’re some of the best matte screen protectors you can get. I usually use them on my iPhones, but I wanted to replace my horrible Paperlike screen protector with this trusted brand. In my old review, I mentioned how easily it broke on me when trying to lift and reposition it, but customer service was there immediately to address my issue. Thanks Mothca customer service!! That aside, the screen protector is exactly what I’ve come to love and expect from them. It’s soft to the touch, there’s no resistance when swiping like on regular glass, and it looks sleek. No glossy reflections all over the place. Also barely any fingerprints dirtying you the screen!! This screen protector is a pleasure to draw and write on with my Apple Pencil. It feels more like paper than Paperlike (seriously, don’t buy that brand). [OLD REVIEW] — I’ve bought many products from Mothca, mainly their anti-glare screen most screen protectors, if you get dust trapped during installation, you can carefully remove the screen protector and try again. With this screen protector, I tried removing it carefully and it snapped at the bottom-right corner. I cannot believe how fragile this protector is. I wanted to replace my terrible Paperlike protector with this cheaper alternative since Paperlike is overpriced and underperforms, but this Mothca protector for the iPad Pro is a disappointment. It’s very unfortunate—this screen protector is great to look at and feels buttery smooth. I’m an artist that usually works digitally on my iPad, and this screen protector feels MILES ahead of the $40 Paperlike garbage. Also the grain effect is so subtle compared to Paperlike. All-in-all, I’m left stuck with a brand-new broken screen protector from a typical installation process and that’s not okay.

Great high quality protector and amazing matte look! It feels nice and comes with everything you need to install it along with instructions. Definitely worth the cost. My only critiques are that the edges of the protector (especially near the camera) can have little bubbles that can’t be pressed out and it only comes with one alcohol prep pad when two would be more convenient for a screen this big. Although these critiques are minor. The matte look also helps a lot with anti glare, I took some pictures with shadow and sunlight to help show the effect. Also, the customer service is fantastic. I accidentally ordered the wrong type of screen protector (I ordered iPad Pro 11-inch M1-M3 when I needed M4-M5) and I emailed the listed email on a card that came with the product. Not only did they get back to me within 24 hours, but they also helped ensure that they knew the exact model of my iPad, and sent me a replacement that delivered in around 2 days, all free of charge.

I don’t often write reviews, but I’m so impressed with this screen protector I just have to let everyone know. First of all, I absolutely *hate* screen protectors. I buy them constantly and recognize them as a necessary evil for all our family’s various gadgets. Phones, Nintendo Switches, tablets, you name it... I’ve bought screen protectors for them. But I always hate them because they are never just right. The edges are too sharp, the fit isn’t perfect, the surface is too slick or shiny, or they have terrible bubbles. So it was with great trepidation and resigned fate that I ordered a screen protector for my new iPad Air 4. Before I even got the tablet in, I ordered a no-name plastic “paperlike” clone. I installed it, hated it, and peeled it right back off within minutes. I was worried about my spiffy new tablet’s screen, however, so I went back to Amazon and started searching. And searching. And searching. I stumbled upon this screen protector, the Mothca Matte, and ordered it even though it was more expensive than the others. It’s amazing. I mean, literally amazing. The satin texture is so subtle that you don’t even think about it until you realize that you really don’t need to wipe the fingerprints off your screen because there aren’t any. I’m a heavy user of the Apple Pencil 2, and this screen protector makes writing and drawing a real joy. It’s not like writing on paper, but it’s way better than writing on slick glossy glass. It’s perfect. Installation? Dead simple. I admit that I install more of these things than most people, but even so it’s sometimes a challenge to get it lined up and bubble-free. Not this time. Installation was effortless and it turned out absolutely perfect. I did end up with a very slight tilt to the angle of the protector, but it’s off by less than a millimeter, completely un-noticeable by anyone except me. Given that I did the installation by the light of a flashlight at my kitchen table after a very casual wipe-down, I’m ecstatic with the results. If you are looking for a solidly awesome not-too-slippery screen protector for your iPad.... here it is. The slight matte finish doesn’t blur your screen like the plastic films do. I won’t have to worry about scratches, and the stylus feels more natural and responsive. Get this screen protector. Update: Added photo; yes this is still an awesome screen protector! Edit Septemter 15, 2021: I'm getting ready to trade my iPad Air in for a new iPad Mini 6, and I'm hoping to find this same screen protector for that too. After all this time, the screen protector is still perfect and I couldn't be happier with it. It's awesome. Probably the best bang-for-the-buck gadget purchase I've ever made.

**UPDATE (5/5/2020)** I contacted the Motha Support page on Facebook through Facebook messenger, and got a response within about four hours! Support was helpful and apologized for the mixup, sent me a new screen protector within a few days. The new one is actually matte (uploaded a photo of it for comparison). As for reviewing the actual product (now that I have it): Installation was relatively straightforward and went well! I did it in the bathroom and instead of running a hot shower, I just used a spray bottle to spray water and I figure it eliminates dust about the same way as steam would. (Our bathroom connects to the master bedroom so I think any steam would just escape) No bubbles at all! The feel of the matte screen is really smooth and silky, and it definitely helps with fingerprints. I primarily purchased this because I use my iPad for school and the Apple Pencil gliding over a really slick glass screen protector was giving me wrist cramps. I wanted something that would provide a bit more resistance than a polished glass surface, but I didn't want to get the plastic Paperlike (also because I heard it eats up the nibs really fast, and that it feels more like writing on fine grit sandpaper.......). I also wanted the screen protector to be glass for more protection. The feedback that the matte screen provides for the pencil is VERY subtle, certainly not a sandpaper feeling, but it is there and sufficient for my purposes. For reference, with physical materials I typically use fountain pens which often glide very smoothly over paper as well, so I'm used to getting subtle feedback when writing. There is a bit of the rainbow-y grainy effect with the screen but I don't mind it that much - I don't need 4K resolution while taking notes anyways and it's not terribly noticeable. **OLD REVIEW (5/1/2020)** Unsure if I just got a defective product, but the screen protector I received is perfectly smooth like a pane of glass, not matte at all. This seems like false advertising and I'm really disappointed - even the packaging said "matte screen protector" but as you can see from the image, it's about as smooth, shiny, and reflective as any normal glass screen protector. Not sure where the "matte" is supposed to come in, this isn't matte at all.

I happened to stumble upon this item when looking for an alternative to the usual matte film type protectors and decided to give it a try. SO glad I did! The screen protector looks and feels fantastic! It is a super smooth surface that limits fingerprints and diffuses glare with hardly any impact on clarity. SO much better than the usual paper film type protectors. I write on my iPad Pro extensively and the experience is great! Just the write texture...not gritty like others. Your palm glides nicely when writing with the pen. The pen is super responsive and makes writing effortless. Love watching media content without having to see myself on the screen. I have installed so many protectors and found the install to be easy with the provided install frame. Had no issues fitting my case on with the protector installed. EXTREMELY impressed with this wonderful product. Definitely the best matte protector available, period! Would highly recommend!!

Absolutely what I wanted on a screen protector. Fits perfectly and reduces oily fingerprint markings significantly. Anti glare is also fantastic and the matte finish is great. Was also pleasantly surprised with the included glass protector for the camera lenses.

Ottimo prodotto, sono davvero sorpresa. L’applicazione non è semplicissima ma seguendo le istruzioni e facendo con calma si riesce ad ottenere un risultato quasi perfetto. La confezione include la garanzia, due salviette imbevute di alcol, un adesivo per rimuovere la polvere e due per facilitare l’applicazione. L’adesivo per togliere la polvere lascia un po’ di colla all’inizio, ma man mano che lo usa e si pulisce la colla volta per volta smette di lasciare tracce e alla fine rimuove tutto senza problemi. Essendo una pellicola opaca si perde ovviamente un pochina di definizione, ma davvero poca e ci si abitua subito. Molto comoda per scrivere, e molto più spessa di quelle che si trovano solitamente in commercio (è una via di mezzo tra la classica pellicola sottile e quelle in vetro), quindi da l’idea di reggere abbastanza bene a urti o graffi non troppo profondi. Consigliatissima!

C’est le second verre mat que je commande de cette marque pour iPhone et iPad et c’est extraordinaire de qualité, l’aspect mat donne un rendu très propre et surtout ne garde aucune empreinte! Certes un petit peu plus cher que d’autres marques mais c’est une valeur sûre.
