Great Brew on the Go
I love French Press coffee and make myself a big pot in a big insulated French Press and enjoy a LOT of coffee every day. But it's getting expensive, plus I have a trip coming up and I'll be staying with someone who exclusively has Nespresso, which I don't care for. So I bought this lovely thermos French Press to cut down my consumption and to have real coffee during that visit.I chose Bodum as I've used their coffee products in the past and liked them. It works as advertised and makes a nice thermos of coffee that stays hot, but drinkable, for hours. My main issue with a lot of travel cups is the drinking experience, but this one has a nice broad lip and feels pleasant to drink out of. It also seals tightly and spill proof.

Bodum French press great ( and as good as Aeropress)
I bought this travel French press in 2023. Today is Feb. 2025. It was for a trip, but I have used it almost daily for 1-2 years now. I search reviews about coffee makers all the time looking for ‘something better’. When I look at my purchases, I have a different one for every 3-6-9 months. Except now. I am one person. Who wants a perfect cup or two of great tasting coffee every morning without fail. I bought the stainless steel since I am opposed to plastic; and to hot water being poured over that plastic. It makes very good ,hot coffee. I like it strong, but not espresso level. I use 4 T. To make 10 ounces of coffee. I use cream ( half & half). Sometimes I wish I had another cup, but now it’s made. I always pour this freshly made coffee into a coffee cup, then add cream. I have tried pulling plunger out, adding a little more hot water and re- plunging. Not great. Now, I just use a portable pour over silicone holder with a coffee filter. Since, I want my last taste of coffee to taste as good as the first one. I am surprised this not having ratings closer to the Aeropress. My son in law uses the aeropress, but honestly my coffee tastes as good as his. Maybe the Aeropress is easier to clean, but this one does a good job. No paper or plastic ( except for lid). And I think it costs less.( or in 2023 it did)!

Fantastic, low-cost, way to have your French press coffee on the go
I thoroughly enjoy this French press; use it daily and no longer bother with any other coffee maker. Understanding how a French press works and knowing what to expect, I can confidently give it five stars. The insulation works fantastically -- my coffee is piping hot after plunging still rather warm up to two hours later. This has been a large issue with my other presses (including those from Bodum). Thank the maker, my coffee no longer goes cold. And the volume is enough that I get a heavy dose of good French pressed coffee every day (even with up to three scoops of grinds). Not like some small presses that force me to make a second cup.Other reviewers have mentioned seemingly negative points that I will also address.First, the sealing of the lid:This is not an up-endable travel mug. Full stop. But it's not advertised as such. Remember, it's a press, which means the plunger mechanism must be able to move. For the price, you can't expect the hardware that would create a waterproof seal around the plunger. So, yes, if you turn it upside down, it will leak. That said, if the mug tips and you quickly right it, it won't leak so quickly that you have coffee everywhere. I carry mine out and about on a daily basis, put it in the outer pocket of my backpack and, as long as I'm a little careful, I have no problems.Second, grinds in your coffee:On the last few sips of coffee, I typically do taste a few grinds that have managed to slip around the edges of plunger screen. It's not the end of the world and it tells me my coffee is done for the day. The edge of the plunger screen is a silicone-esque O-ring which is enough to push most grinds to the bottom, but like all French presses I have used, some may get by. You must also understand that you are not pouring the coffee out of the press (which further keeps grinds from getting into your coffee cup). You are drinking directly from the press, so you can't expect zero grinds 100 percent of the time. As long as I know this, I'm not bothered.Third, problems operating:If you use it properly — not with super fine coffee powder, pushing the plunger consistently but slowly, sometimes making a few attempts — the screen doesn't get blocked and there isn't the pressure buildup that would force water (and grinds) around the edge of the plunger. Some folks complain this happens every time. Operator error isn't exactly something to complain about.

Not to shabby
Not to bad. One of very few travel mugs that actually fits in my Toyota 4runner cup holder without pinching the rubber off. It does well, keeps the coffee hot, but the top is leak prone as it is missing a gasket on the plunger. It also leaks around the edges so you get some grounds as this brand tends to do.On the plus side you can drink out of it in use and it holds shut well.I have another one from a different brand that does not leak on the plunger and the seal is much better so I don't get grounds in my cofee. But it's really hard to drink out of and it's too wide for my cup holder. It also cost 2x as much.So it's not perfect, but for the price it's very usable and not bad.
