Versatile display, but multiple units might not match.
Easy to use with Raspberry Pi, great quality. This one has the display blocks a little closer together than another that I purchased from a different seller, which eliminates the gap visually between the blocks. It changes the mounting hole spacing a bit, but I’d much rather have the seamless display. I can deal with the mounting. I got the green LED’s, and the brightness is much lower than the red ones (which are too bright IMO), so you can actually use the brightness control in the software. I bought a couple more of these displays, and these were disappointing. The two of them did not match, in two different ways: first, one had clear LED’s, the other had diffused LED’s. Second, one had the more closely spaced blocks while the other had the wider spacing. Either was tolerable by itself, but the two units are being used one atop the other, to make a 32x16 display. The difference in spacing is about 2mm overall in length, so you can’t keep the columns lined up. I ended up just buying a third display so I could make 2 of them match. The extra will get used in another project. I’m removing a star for that. Update - I measured the board widths. The red boards I got from another seller were 131.5 mm wide, the clear green ones I got from Noyito were 129.5 mm, and the diffused green I got from Noyito was 128 mm. The last one had the display blocks touching each other and was the closest possible spacing for the displays - perfect. I later ordered three more units, even though I only needed two, since you don’t know what you’ll get. All of these ended up being the clear green LED’s and the 129.5 mm board width, acceptable but not the best possible. So, in all, I’ve ordered 8 of these units so far and gotten 7 of the 129.5 mm with clear LED’s, and 1 of the 128 mm with diffused LED’s. One of the 7 came with a defective MAX7219 chip, one column of its LED’s is a lot dimmer than all the others. I put that on the side, it’s not worth going through the trouble of returning it. So, I’m leaving the review at 4 stars, since my experience was good but not perfect. It’s too bad you can’t actually specify what board size and LED type (other than color) that you want.

A visually impressive matrix LED display with many great features!
This MAX7219 8x8 common-cathode dot-matrix LED display is the perfect companion for Arduino UNO R4 WiFi. Interfaced using I2C, it easily extends to multiple units by simply plugging them together. It has excellent brightness uniformity and a nice build quality. This will be my go-to product for all future requirements requiring scrolling text and graphics.

It worked as expected (good quality too)
This MAX7219 worked just as expected for an Arduino clock project. The quality and packaging of the product was also good. I've ordered quite a few of these in the past from other sources and some came with very poor manufacturing (very dirty circuit board, no protective film, etc.), but not this one. The one other thing I've noticed was that the price of these things has gone up considerably since the pandemic started. Maybe it's the inflation we're all suffering from these days or something else, but these thingies are not as cheap as they used to be.

Inconsistent hardware and quality but good CS
I placed an order for two green, one red, and one blue LED matrix. I received two different models for the same color which caused the LEDs to look inconsistent. Only one set had the light diffusing plastic film which created a visible difference on the displays. I'm very disappointed in the lack of consistency. Update: I contacted the company and they were very friendly and helpful. The rep tried very hard to resolve the problem. I've updated my review to reflect my CS experience.

Great little 8x8 displays
They work quite well. You can also chain quite a lot of them to make a long display. I didn't encounter any issues with different LEDs, all the displays/boards I got, have the same color. Removing one star because the quality varies. The display socket pins are not all soldered at the same depths, especially between multiple 4x modules. This can be an issue when you try to chain them without gaps. Also, one piece arrived damaged, with one display completely sheared off at the pins. Since I was using a forwarding service, I'm not sure if the forwarder messed up or Amazon fulfillment. Things to improve: kit comes with an L shaped connector you can manually solder, but it's not possible to chain without gaps using this connector. What I ended up doing is manually bending the existing connector in a U shape and attaching it to the previous board. This works well, but requires careful bending. It would be nice if the kit came with an easy way to chain the boards without gaps.
