I received my pen a couple of days ago, different from the normal disgusting process for Staedtler products through this vendor. The pen delivery process was through DHL , with accurate information and delivery. Excellent service.Packing, including the box, were of excellent quality and more than expected. I actually am thinking of repurposing the beautiful wood case. Due to the lack of information available to me on this pen, I took a gamble with its purchase, but it was love at first sight. It is magnificent, none of the pictures available did it any justice. The pen is elegant. I just happen to like wood and platinum, so my eye says it is a beauty. It is a big pen, the likes of my Krone Sterling and my Pelikan M1000.I found it a comfortable writer without posting (too heavy otherwise). The B nib:A bit shorter than the M1000, the same size as the Krone, a bit larger than my M800. The nib has some give to it, not much, just enough to let you play with some downward strokes. It is just beautiful. There is also something very special about this pen/nib, as you write there is a particular sound from the nib. It is not a scratch, but a beautiful eco of the gold; I can only describe it as the sound from flipping a gold coin, or a fine-tuned Italian Sports engine.Nibs may be partial to a particular ink. I tried the pen with yama-budo and it works perfectly. As I experiment with more inks I will upgrade this response.Sorry for taking so long. I used another ink by J Herbin (one of my favorites) and it was a firehose. I changed fast to a dry (er) ink, Edelstein Aventurine, the results were beautiful. I got a well saturated, perfectly defined writing, no skips, but absolutely smoooth on Rohdia paper.I tried the Sailor pigmented inks with excellent results, specially the Kiowa guru. Most beautiful brilliant, well defined edges.
