It stops your floss from getting tangled and makes it glide easily through the fabric
This stuff works really well. It stops your floss from getting tangled and makes it glide easily through the fabric. It's also usefully to put some on the end, it really helps with threading your needle.I thought this was a bit expensive since the box is tiny (I think it's around 1 inch, cube) but in reality you don't use very much each time and the entire box is actually filled with product, so it will last you quite a while.I've used beeswax before and this is very different. It's a lot thinner and smoother, it almost reminds me of the way mineral oil feels on your skin. It absorbs really quickly into the thread and doesn't sit in a thick, waxy layer on top like beeswax does. It also doesn't make your thread as stiff as beeswax.I only wish that they would list the ingredients. Otherwise, I think it was worth the amount I paid!

Good and useful product for stitchers
Somewhere in my house is a whole bunch of little blue squares of Thread Heaven that marched away and went AWOL. When I go to work on a cross-stitch project I can never find it, and I'm always sure it's at the bottom of my stitching tote. However, it never is there. Due to the good price and the excellent uses for this product, I had to order yet another one. Our needlework shop closed long ago, so there went that.Thread Heaven is wonderful to run embroidery floss through either before or after you've threaded your needle. It makes threading easier. It coats the floss with a light covering of a waxy substance and stitches lay nice and flat and even. It protects the floss and conditions it. If my needle seems to be having trouble getting through the fabric, I dip it in Thread Heaven and it's as smooth as can be.It truly does make stitching more "heavenly.".

I absolutely loved how Thread Heaven worked on thread
I absolutely loved how Thread Heaven worked on thread, but I had an unusual problem with it. I have asthma and COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disorder.) Within a few days of purchasing Thread Heaven, I began having trouble with my breathing, which got worse and worse, even while my stitching was getting better and better.I actually permanently lost about 1/4 of my lung capacity to scarring due to the allergic reaction Thread Heaven set up in my bronchial tubes and lungs. For the 99.9% of you with great lungs, go ahead and enjoy the benefits of this great product! If, however, you have allergies, AND asthma AND COPD or other lung-based problems, AND you begin having trouble breathing after purchasing Thread Heaven, please get all hints of the products out of your home as soon as possible as soon as you realize what is happening, instead of sitting around denying that Thread Heaven could be having anything to do with it like I did. I think I used the product 3-4 WEEKS after symptoms started, so I can't blame the product for my denial and persistence.Only myself. And if you can use it well, believe me, your stitchery and/or bead work will be better for it.

I Can’t Stitch Without This!
Before I found this product I constantly had knots in my floss for embroidering and in my thread for hand sewing. It’s really expensive but it lasts a long time and it does what it says it will do. I never get knots now in my threads when I’m handsewing or hand embroidering. I highly recommend this product and have bought a second one just in case I lose the first one and if I ever run out I would definitely buy more. I just don’t know if I will ever run out because you use so little lol!

Great product for knotting pearls
Loved the product when I used it last and it works very well to get my thread that I use for knotting pearl jewelry ( silk) to manage a bit more easily, plus I believe it strengthens it quite a bit, And I have tried beeswax but this seems to work better, I have not received my order that was due to arrive Sept 3rd and currently has not arrived as of Sept 19th, I would be careful where one orders from, as for me it was just as easy to use a coupon and go to a local large store, so be careful if you really need it as I did,

Who knew heaven was sold at Amazon!!!
Thread heaven is just that...HEAVEN!!! Previously, I simply pulled my thread through a bar of soap. And while it worked, it did not do the job as well as Thread Heaven. I use this with hand embroidery and hand quilting projects, and not only does it help eliminate those snarls in your embroidery floss, is also provides a very smooth "pull" as your needle and thread pass through the fabric. I usually thread my needle first, and once it is ready to use for sewing, I press my needle into the firm gel followed by pulling my thread through it. I usually do this 2 times before actually sewing to get the best result. To pull my thread through the gel, I hold the threaded needle in my right hand, keeping the eye of the needle close to the rim of the container. I then hold the small blue box in my let hand and line my thread over the gel and using gentle pressure with your left thumb on top of the thread, pull the thread with your right hand until all thread has passed through. This will greatly help eliminate wasted floss/thread due to knots. I highly recommend this product.

I was rather disappointed. I was hoping it would make my embroidery projects work-up more smoothly but it made the thread knot up more than if I'd not used anything and so I eventually that is exactly what I ended up doing to finish the projects. While it was fairly easy to use now because the box is full, it would be somewhat more difficult as it is used up. As soon as I can purchase some I plan to go back to my beeswax in a container that lets me draw the thread through a special slot-not a problem applying it no matter how little is left. I never had trouble with knotting thread when I used that.

Pricey for amount received.
This is a tiny little pot of I am not sure what exactly that is supposed to protect and condition thread. Apparently what I wanted it for and what it actually is supposed to be used for are not the same, or I am doing something wrong. I wanted to use it to stiffen the bead cord material to stop or reduce the amount of fraying I get and make it easier and faster to string the beads. It does not do a good job for that. I would welcome any suggestions, though!

Huge help to prevent knotting, and a must have for metalics like Kreinik
I cross stitch a lot, generally large patterns (500,000+ stitches) and some days knotting thread makes me want to pull my hair out! In addition, by the end of the strand the thread tends to get a little ratty and the stitches don't look as clean as they do in the beginning. When you open the adorable little box that it comes in, it looks like it's the consistency of petroleum jelly and you wonder how on earth you'll use it without making a horrible mess (particularly once the product is used beyond the lip of the box) but it's actually closer to a silly putty consistency and very easy to manipulate. A lot of people take it right out and make a little ball of it to use, but so far I've just been using it as is. It looks a little nasty after a lot of heavy use, as it collects tiny bits of thread and dust in it, but I have yet to see that gunk transfer to the thread, even on solid white. I was also concerned that the waxy nature of Thread Heaven would lead to the stitches getting dusty or collecting pet hair, but that doesn't seem to be an issue either.Make sure to follow the directions exactly, and don't start using it mid-project or the threads will age differently and after a few years the difference is supposedly noticeable. Long time users of TH say that it protects the colour over time as well, I guess I'll have to see! The reduction in knotting alone is enough to make me use it on every thread in every project, but I have to say it's a MUST HAVE for metallic thread like Kreinik. I find Kreinik almost unusable without Thread Heaven. I'm a very happy stitcher now!

Already used?
The item came without it's plastic wrap, impossible to tell if it had been used or true and returned by a previous customer. I don't know if it was used or new.

Not sure why everyone likes it so much
Having seen this raved about by other cross stitchers thought I'd give it a go. I don't find it's worth the extra effort every time I load a thread and just wastes time. It also seemed to give the thread a slightly different sheen which I wasn't keen on.Will try it when I use metallic/blending filament as apparently it is really good for difficult threads but wouldn't bother with standard DMC or Anchor

Silky smooth threads which don't smell like honey!
I bought this particular Thread Heaven for my Mum to help tame fly-away threads when she did her hand sewing because I found the one I had previously bought elsewhere (same brand) to work really well for me.I spent quite a bit of time looking for something like this but all I could find recommended was using beeswax. Whilst that seems to be a great choice for most people, I find the smell of honey and beeswax to be totally revolting. Eventually someone in a sewing group on facebook said that they had used Thread Heaven and that it doesn't smell of anything so might be worth trying. Its fantastic! I love that it also conditions the thread and provides some UV protection to help the thread stay stronger for longer. It really does have no smell really (or at least nothing very noticeable) and so if like me you detest the honey smell, this product is a fantastic alternative to using the traditional beeswax.

I didn't use this very much until I bought a cross Stitch kit with very inferior thread and this wee box came into its own. I'll definitely use it in future as I've now got used to running thread through it each time I'm seeing.
