TimexMen's TW4B00100 Expedition Acadia Green/Black Fast Wrap Velcro Strap Watch

Years of use
I love this watch. I have worn this brand and model for many years. It is inexpensive so after a few years when the battery dies, I just buy a new one. I have done this 4 times. The watch never disappoints. A reliable time piece that does not break the bank.

Nice watch
I will get used to the velcro strap, I prefer velcro over regular bands. The second hand does not line up with the second marks. You have to pull the pin out Hard to change/update the time, which scares me. I had a Timex where the pin came all the way out of the watch. Cringe. The illumination is not as good as the Timex Indiglo- I am let down by this. 4/18/25 I got used to the struggle of putting on the velcro strap onto my wrist quickly. The Timex Field Watch is losing one second a day. The indiglo function is almost worthless. All aside, the is making a very good affordable every day work watch.

Great basic watch with classic looks. Just don't slap it around on a hockey puck.
This is a continuation of Timex's great reputation. I am no watch junkie/connoisseur and just wanted a basic watch that felt solid. This Acadia version of their Expedition field watch does that. So you know, the case is polymer with a metal backing. It is not metal all the way around. This throws this model well into the casual side. Great for weekends out to the pizza shop, Outback Steakhouse, or your favorite bar. If you want to go to someplace fancier, I recommend the versions with the brushed metal ring. The strap is fabric and Velcro in black. The strap loop is plastic. Again great for casual use. I will be getting a forest green nylon strap for it with metal loops and buckles to give it a more rugged look. The workings are great, and it is way quieter than the reviews on YouTube make it out to be. (Again, casual owner - not an enthusiast.) Yes I can hear ticking when it bring it up to my ear but it's not like I can hear it at night from across the room. The indiglow and the glow in the dark hands are nice. The second hand does not glow and there is no "Hack" option for this model.I'm glad I bought it.

My Only Choice
I had a Khaki watch purchased back about 30 years ago that I just loved, and used it primarily as a working around the house watch in later years. Well, the stem finally fell off from all the years. I was totally lost. So, back to AMAZON and within a short time I found the potential successor. This TIMEX not only upgrades my KHAKI, but it has become my go-to watch for all occasions - except working around the house. I love it, as it not only looks better than the photos online, but it runs by battery which keeps the time with no need to rewind; it has a larger, clearer face with a darker background so you can see the numbers better, yet is not overwhelming to see on your arm; it has an indigo light that is there if I need it; and, what I really like is the valcro band that is easy to put on, and it ties the watch as securely as you want on your arm. These are the reasons why I chose it...and, lastly, the price was nothing compared to other watches that I seemed to find one or more things I didn't particularly like. For me, this was the ideal replacement watch that will, hopefully, last me the next 30 years...I will be 99 and looking to find a replacement.

Velcro Watchband
I like the band easy on off always tight.

Time for another one
I buy this watch because the design of the velcro watchband keeps the metal away from my skin. I like the sturdiness and ease of reading the face. I've bought a new one about every two years, as I'm hard on watches and manage to do everything wearing one of these, resulting in scratched faces, worn out velcro.

It doesn't take a lickin' before it quits tickin'
We read reviews on Amazon as well as through the Boy Scouts of America store and this watch seemed like a great option for our crossover scout. It''s rugged, yet comfortable, has a great working glow option,, large numbers, second hand, date and is even somewhat water resistant. The problem came about 3 mos in (it was a Christmas gift) when the watch stopped working. We took it to our local watch doc and got a new battery and were good to go. Disappointed that the battery didn't last long, our son was still thrilled to have it working again. Low and behold five weeks later, the watch stopped working again. We returned to the watch doc thinking maybe the last battery was faulty. It appeared to be the case. Popped in a brand new one while we were standing in the store and the watch began working again. Well, to our dismay the watch stopped working about 5 weeks later. It was determined that the battery was not the issue (we popped it into a compatible watch and it worked just fine), instead the watch itself was faulty. We realize this watch was not very expensive (thank goodness!); however, it would've been nice if it lasted at least through the following Christmas. Upon reading more recent reviews on Amazon, others have noted the same issues. We would highly recommend another watch. This Timex didn't even take a lickin' before it quit tickin.

Simple but worth every penny!
This is a simple, analog, old school style of watch but, hey, I love it! The dial is easy to read and, dare I say (?), quite stylish in an outdoorsy way. The band I chose was velcro. It works wonderfully! The "light" is a great feature especially at night and in a low light environment. Hey, if you want a rugged, simple but stylish analog watch there is none better!
