VTech CS6209 Accessory Cordless Handset, Silver/Black | Requires a VTech CS6219 or CS6229 Expandable Phone System to Operate

I needed a good speaker phone to attend meetings remotely from home. This is a great option, it allows me to listen and talk hands-free during meetings while still working on my computer. It's easy to mute the phone so household background noises don't disrupt the meeting, and by purchasing a set of 2 I can sit in on meetings all day without worrying about the battery running out. I just allow one to charge while I use the other. This set works perfectly with the Vtech base phone that I already had, and was very easy to connect. The only feature lacking is the ability to set the handset into the charger while still talking on the phone.

I already owned a VTech phone set with the main base answering machine about 4 years ago. Due to MY neglect over the years by leaving one out in the rain on my patio table, accidently washing one in the washing machine and my dog thinking one was a chew toy, I had only two left to use and that was awful especially when you have a 3 level home like I do. I bought another brand, was not happy, too much work and little buttons just to see to dial a number and was more expensive!I knew the model I bought 4 years ago was not being sold at stores anymore so the search for the same set was on. I finally found the phones I LOVE so much with a great price on Amazon.com. These phones are awesome! They are soooo easy to use and you can see the screen. I especially LOVE that I didn't have to buy the whole set with the answering machine. I just bought extra handsets. They "communicate" with the main base I had before in just seconds. All the numbers I have stored were automatically programmed into each new handset, it was so easy! The volume is great too. They have lots of extras like a intercom button to call another handset ( I don't have to holler my head off to get my daughter who's upstairs in her bedroom) and a clear speaker phone. It's easy to save a number and to look up a number in the built in phone book. The shipping was awesome too. I received my phones in two days! Now I have phones all over my house again which makes life so much easier! Awesome phones and awesome service from Amazon.com, THANKS!

I had several different phones that I used around my previous home. When I moved, I discovered that the lack of a speakerphone was creating a huge inconvenience. I also had the dilemma that the home I moved into only had two phone jacks - one in my bedroom and one in my son's nursery. We live in a two story home which meant we would not have a phone downstairs. This type of phone was recommended as a solution. I had previously purchased the base phone to resolve my speakerphone dilemma (I didn't know it was a wireless network phone at the time) so I took the advise given and bought the accessory handsets. We now have three phones all over our home and each one works perfectly. It was very easy to connect them to the base (you just had to carry the receiver into the same room as the base, press find phone, and viola!) The phones communicate so each one says Line In Use when one is being used. It has a voicemail indicator, and caller id storage as well as directory. Couldn't be more pleased!

In addition to the two with the base, I bought three additional handsets to distribute around my three level home. The handsets are automatically numbered 1, 2, 3...and cannot be renamed to identify their location in the house (and where the charging station would be), such as: family room, bedroom, kitchen, study, living room. A specific name is much easier to remember when calling another room/location than associating a handset number with the each location. This feature was available on the inexpensive cordless phones I replaced.Secondly, when using the intercom function to call from one handset to another it is not possible to CALL ALL the handset simultaneously. Only one other handset may be called at a time, and only the handset that is called may be used to answer the intercom call. Thus, if you call the handset where no one is nearby to answer, you must call all the other handsets individually until you find the person. In addition, if you hear the handset that is called ring you cannot answer it except with the handset that is ringing. None of the other handsets can respond to the intercom call. This just about eliminates any convenience a multi-station intercom offers.

This is by far one of the best cordless phones I have ever had. Through out the years I have gone from the original 900mhz, which had barely any range at all around my house, to the 2.4ghz which had a little bit further range, but the quality was never good to the 5.8ghz phones which had constant feedback and buzzing. After trying to find out why the 5.8ghz were buzzing a lot, I was later told by the phone company that its because there was to many electronic devices in my home causing feedback. Well in today's society, everyone has a lot of electronics in their home. So, I had to go back down to the 2.4ghz just to get rid of the buzzing and feedback that was really annoying.So I decided to try out the DECT 6.0 phone and this is by far the best cordless phone I have ever owned. Not only is the call quality so crystal clear, the range on the phone is outstanding. I can go all the way down to the basement with the base being upstairs with no change in call quality. I can go outside on the deck, I can go to the mailbox and check the mail and the quality is so crystal clear that it is awesome.The biggest thing that I like about this phone is that as long as one phone is plugged into a phone jack, all of the extended phones that you add to this doesn't have to be plugged into the wall phone jack. You just need one plugged into the phone jack and the rest of the phones in the house just have to be plugged into the power socket. This came in so handy for us because our house was built in the early 90s and the phone jacks are in random areas in the house. The way we have the house setup, there is no phone jack next to our couch. So this was great for us.Bottom line: If you are looking for convenience, portability, crystal clear quality and range then this is the perfect phone for you!
