This is the perfect size and firmness to support my neck. I use it under my neck while lying on my back to relax at the end of the day and sometimes use it while sleeping. Some reviews complained about the pillow being too firm, but it is exactly what I wanted. I tried the "original McKenzie neck pillow roll, but returned it because it was too soft for me and didn't provide enough support to encourage a proper neck curve. The diameter is a bit under 3.5 inches (my measures 3.25 inches), but it's exactly what I wanted. I have tried many other neck pillow rolls and a full 3.5 inch roll is a little bit too big for my neck. (I am a fairly small/petite).

I bought this because I was waking up every day with a headache at the base of my skull. Felt like a bad tension headache. I put it inside my pillow cover with my regular pillow and started sleeping with it like that.It is soft but stiff! It took me a couple days to get used to it, but I wake up with no headaches now. It supports that gap between my shoulders and head and I sleep better and wake up pain free! It is simple and awesome!

I went with this because it was 3 inches and I wanted somethings smaller for the curve of the back of my neck but this is kinda hard and I really do wish now I had gone with a different material like a memory form. I still use it if it's nicely in my pillow, but it does give me a headache after a while because it is too hard

I put this roll between my pillow and my pillow case to give my neck extra support. I it is very comfortable, but about 3-4 inches shorter than I anticipated -- and than my pillow is. Which doesn't seem to make sense.

The foam is extremely hard, I wanted a soft foam but kept it anyway for the cheap cover to use on my other pillow while its case was being washed - beware, this item is made in China in case you are avoiding China products

Way too hard and the diameter is a bit too large for the curve of my neck. The length is perfect. I’ve used it a couple of times for my lower back instead of my neck. I’m still in search of a good neck pillow.

My neck pain went down by 50% after only 2 nights! It's very comfortable, and has a good balance of give and firmness. It's supportive and cushy, and I'm so glad I purchased this pillow!

This cylinder pillow is much nicer, and more firm, than others available via Amazon. It also is not just a piece of spongy foam. It has a liner. Good product!
