No glue is included. White glue is all you need.

This one comes with a rubber band motor. Planes in the 1000 series can be built with a gasoline or electric motor.

Does this actually fly?

That's a "yes, but" question. If you can find the right size glow engine (Cox, Testors, McCoy) it could be free flight or U control. In this day and age with the micro radios now available, some folks are Radio Controlling these with electric motors, but you're really on your own or depending on radio control chat groups for ideas. The instructions haven't changed in at least 30 years. So yeah, technically it's doable. But if you have to ask...
