Truly All Natural Residue-Free Soap
The reason I started using Kirk's Hardwater Castile soap is because I have very long dreadlocks, and I absolutely cannot use any soap that leaves residue to wash my scalp, as the residue gets trapped in the locks and makes them turn white. Nearly every soap in every store on the market, even the ones that claim to be "all natural" and "residue free" STILL have crap in them that leaves behind a white residue, or contain perfumes or synthetics. Dr. Bronner's and Kirk's are just about the only ones that literally have no synthetic ingredients or animal by-products. I have trouble finding both brands consistently in stores in my area, so I buy in bulk online. I switched from Dr. Bronner's to Kirk's Castile because the "Hardwater" bar soap gives more suds & lasts longer, and also washes out easier and more thoroughly. I've read that soap does not need to literally form a lather to work, but it seems that it's easier to use less soap & get more coverage when it does, and Kirk's makes a MUCH better lather than Dr. Bronner's. And like I said, the "Hardwater" version washes out easier. It's like an oil-eraser.Once I started using natural soap for my hair, I also began using it as my body wash bar as well. I used to have itchy-flaky skin eczema issues, that have entirely ceased since I started using Kirk's. I even use Kirk's as laundry soap (shaving the side of the bar produces flakes), and it's great for washing pets, as well. If you are looking for truly all natural soap, this is it.

This is a first class item..
Our family has been using Kirk's Castile soaps for at least 15 years. They are very well produced and perform exactly as advertised.

4 of 8 bars smelled of mildew.
4 of the kirks soap bars smelled so badly of mildew. I thought it was the wrappers but when I unwrapped the bars and used the soap my hands smelled of mildew. I had to throw out 4 of the bars.
