this bottle is great. To sterilize
We have been using Nuk bottles for the past two weeks with our newborn and she has had major air/gas bubble issues. Her appetite has been greatly increasing as she eats very quickly when she feeds. We noticed she had such a negative pressure buildup with the Nuk bottles that when she'd release she would swallow air and we could hear it, and burping didn't seem to get it all out even with long periods of burping her. The Dr Browns bottles have her feeding almost completely silently with her swallowing being only slightly audible. She burps once and is done and has much less gas! We won't be using any other bottles.A lot of people say its a hassle cleaning these dr. Brown bottles but honestly either way you're gonna have to clean bottles and there's only 2 extra parts that you'll have to clean which doesn't take any longer than a few seconds to do so. I breastfeed as well on top of supplementing with formula and my baby has no issues with nipple confusion. All in all, this bottle is great. To sterilize, I just wash with water and soap and throw them in the dr. Brown microwaveable sterilizer bags and set them out to dry. These bottles are great quality as well. I bought seven of them and never had a leak. The plastic pieces are sturdy, and the nipples are very soft and easy for baby to drink from. The level 1 nipples worked well for my baby. If you have a baby that suffers from reflux, gas, or colic, please give these bottles a try!BOTTOM LINE Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Great for breastfed babies
These bottles are great. My daughter was exclusively breastfed, but needed bottles for when she started daycare. We bought these because they are apparently great for babies with gas or colic. We were lucky that she didn't have colic so I can't speak to that, but they have worked great. She started taking a bottle with breastmilk at around 6 or 7 weeks, and didn't have any trouble eating from these the first time. We've tried a few other bottles since, and while she does fine in them, she really seems to prefer the wide neck bottles. She uses the bottles at daycare and nurses at night, and doesn't have any trouble going back and forth from bottle to nursing.I was worried that cleaning them would be a huge pain since they have a few more parts, but it really isn't an issue. It doesn't really add any time, and it's worth it to try to minimize the amount of air she sucks in while eating at daycare.

Helpful...GAME CHANGER!!!
Love the wide mouth opening...so easy to get the scoops of formula into the bottles without making a giant mess!! I bought the kit but usually used the short bottles for feeding and the larger bottles to mix and store bottles of formula for the next 24 hours. Because you must keep the formula bottle he/she is drinking from refrigerated because it is only good for 1 hour after mixing UNLESS you put it back in the fridge..then ok to keep in fridge for up to 24hrs.. So many trips back and forth to refrigerator. I suggest having a small insulated cooler bag handy to save you a few trips while baby takes a few sips then done for the moment. But even then you must keep the mixed formula at refrigerator temp. So do not overuse the cooler idea and use it only for 1 bottle at a time. Hope this makes sense. (Side note/hack...try using a red light bulb at night in your bedroom lamp.. Allows you to see in the middle of the night without keeping the baby awake or blinding yourself.

Perfect for gassiness, fussiness, and spitting up!
Very pleased with these wide neck Dr. Brown's! My son is 3 months old and extremely fussy/gassy. Despite burping him, holding him upright after meals, using gas drops, and switching him to liquid Similac Sensitive formula, he was spitting up consistently after most meals. We were previously using Joovy Boob bottles with mixed results. Someone recommended the Dr. Brown's bottles, so we gave them a try. They have singlehandedly made the biggest difference! The spitting up has decreased to once every 3-5 days rather than after almost every meal! Also, the gas and fussiness has gotten much better too. We first tried the standard Dr. Brown's bottles, but preferred the Wider neck bottle because we feel it better resembles the breast and Joovy Boob bottles previously used. For all the ways that these bottles have improved our feeding experience, washing the extra pieces is no trouble at all! I read reviews that mentioned issues with leaking. I have had zero problems with leaking. To avoid leakage, just be sure to allow the bottle pieces to dry completely after washing, never heat the bottle with the inner components in place (condensation may build), and never overfill beyond the maximum capacity line.

love it but replacement parts hard to find
LOVE LOVE LOVE these bottles. Like the standard Dr. Brown's bottles, they do take some time to clean compared to other regular bottles, but it's not that much longer and it's all for the baby. =) Some pluses -- bottles are easy to hold for my baby because they have a curvature to them so she knows where to grasp. Also, since they are wider, they don't topple over as easy. The only real downside is that since these aren't the standard sized Dr. Brown's bottles, I can't seem to find replacement parts for them. So that's why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. I've already lost/misplaced a couple of the travel discs and bottle caps but they don't seem to sell these separately (unlike the standard ones -- I see these on Amazon and in some stores like Babies R Us). If anyone knows where I can get wide neck bottle replacement parts, please let me know! And oh, just a tip, if you love Dr. Brown's bottles, you should also get the Dr. Brown's mixing pitcher. It's so easy to make her formula with it and no clumps and since you're not shaking the bottle, hardly any bubbles at all!

Great bottles for gassy babies!
My son loves these bottles. Little late in reviewing them but they have carried us through his new born stage up until now (he’s 2.5). They are super durable and we just put all of the parts in the dishwasher. I found they really really truly helped with his tummy when he was little, reducing the gas in the bottle. He also took well to the nipple (we also use another brand of bottle). Definitely recommend.
