What a disappointment! I don't even know where to start. 1st off I have never purchased or owned a down rigger before, so this was my first experience in buying one. I spent countless hours watching videos, reading blogs and visiting with friends that have used downriggers in some fashion or owned them. I was so Excited to get this all put together.Quick explanation of what I understand the Digitroll 5 vs the Digitroll 10 is. One according to Cannons site if you have a Humminbird fish finder you can purchase a Digitroll 5 and it will connect! FALSE!! Not anymore they dont make the Cannon link box or the cable that connects a bird to the rigger. Now even worse, it just says Humminbird fishfinders on Cannons site, Non Humminbird 798.This rigger is absolutely useless if you are trying to connect this to a fish finder keep dreaming, I chatted with a guy from Jonson who apparently owns Cannon, Humminbird, And Minnekota and they no longer make this technology.They want you to buy the DigiTroll 10. That comes with its own transducer! But still does not connect to you Humminbird, This is ass nine really I have spent over 5k on Johnson products wanting them to connect with each other but, Nope not going to happen this company is moving backwards not forwards. Its sad that even though you have bought everything they make it still want talk and they want you to buy more things. If I could redo it I would, Rip the Humminbird fish finder out of my boat and the Minnekota as well as the Cannon rigger and buy different brands! These guys have terrible websites, terrible information on their websites. and a terrible business model! Stay away if you are new to this and trying to figure these fishing systems out. If you already know what you want and how to work then I guess this equipment may work for you1st. I received the package in great shape, as to be expected.

very nice and well worth it
i use this to retrieve dredges offshore trolling. used with a block and tackle setup, this is an amazing piece to use. makes dredge fishing so much easier and that means more fish....hopefully

I can tell you these are the best Downriggers I've ever owned
I have a pair of white digitrolls on a 17' Alumaweld Stryker and fish Pyramid Lake on a regular basis. I can tell you these are the best Downriggers I've ever owned. I had Walkers that I returned to Cabellas and four Scottys collecting dust in my garage. I will be selling my Scotties on Craigslist. I don't have a hummingbird fish finder and don't really care about the integration. My fish finder is a Lowrance Gen3 and I wouldn't trade it for hummingbird.Scotties use a free fall feature to drop the rigger weight and the lines pops the clip if your not careful. Cannon riggers lower the weight smooth. I love the weight retrieve in the cannon, it's attached to the downrigger and easy to pull a 10lb weight close to the boat. I don't know much about the positive ion feature to attract more fish but my catch rate has gone up. Yes, they are expensive but in my opinion, well worth the investment.I purchased the white digitrol 5 through West marine for about $1,200.
