My New Travel Buddy!
I was skeptical, but this product didn’t disappoint. I have chronic neck issues and sleeping on a plane never ends well for me. This changed everything. It’s comfortable, lightweight, didn’t make me overly warm and fid a great job propping up my head to sleep on the redeye flight. My ONLY complaint is the Velcro is really loud-not ideal when you are on a plane with sleeping passengers. All in all, it’s great. Try it!

Trtl pillow
I’d say this pillow is comfortable and worth a try but it didn’t work for me, personally. I was on a 6.5 hour plane ride that left at 9:30pm and I spent most of my time trying to sleep, not actually sleeping. I was wearing an eye shade and I adjusted the pillow a few times but just wasn’t able to sleep. Funny enough, I did get pretty comfortable. I also had my arms slung through the Pavilia travel blanket pillow so for a while it felt like I was cuddling with a body pillow. I don’t even know what I’d change about this pillow to make it work for me. I especially love the compact size of this pillow. Coming home we boarded at 12:30pm so I never planned on napping but I did and I was able to sleep comfortably without the pillow.

SO much better than a travel pillow!
Used this for a red-eye from Hawaii. Worked like a charm. Comes with a sleep mask too. Worth the money. Light weight, cozy on a cold plane. Supportive and lightweight. I'm so pleased! On a really long flight caught some real Zzzz's!! Finally!!!

A Struggle Between Comfort and Circulation
I wanted to love the Trtl Travel Pillow. really, I did. The promise of a scientifically engineered, ultra-supportive neck brace (sorry, “pillow”) that would finally allow me to sleep on a plane without waking up feeling like I lost a fight with the overhead bin was too good to pass up.Unfortunately, after several flights of dedicated testing, I can confidently say this: if you enjoy the sensation of being in a very mild, travel-sized guillotine, this is the product for you.The “Support” DilemmaThe concept is clever. You wrap it around your neck, lean into the hidden support, and drift off into blissful, ergonomic slumber. The reality? The only way this thing provides any meaningful support is if you cinch it so tightly that you start questioning your blood flow situation. At optimal “support” level, I found myself teetering between “mildly uncomfortable” and “Is this what a giraffe feels like in a turtleneck?”If you loosen it even slightly, it becomes a $60 piece of fabric wrapped around your neck for no reason at all. And if you tighten it enough to actually hold your head up, congratulations! You now have a built-in pulse-checking device because your body will let you know very quickly when your carotid artery has had enough.In-Flight PerformanceMy hope was to finally achieve that elusive, graceful plane nap. Instead, I spent most of my flight adjusting, readjusting, and questioning my life choices as my seat neighbor side-eyed my increasingly desperate attempts to make it work. The “lean and sleep” motion they advertise? More like “lean, start losing feeling in your jaw, panic, readjust, repeat.”The VerdictFor those with an iron will, a tolerance for slight oxygen deprivation, and perhaps a slimmer neck than mine, this might work. For the rest of us? Save your money and go back to the classic awkward head-tilt-against-the-window method or invest in a real neck pillow. Or better yet, just accept that air travel is inherently uncomfortable and move on.Final Rating: 2/5 Stars – Points for innovation, deducted for it being a personal tourniquet for the worst possible location

Needs more R&D and a material upgrade.
The good: it did help me sleep on my 10-hour flight. It felt cozy to be wrapped up in it.The bad: The travel pouch that the neck support goes into fell apart during the first leg of the first flight I used it on. The strap that allows the pillow to clip on to your other bags just tore right off with completely normal use. For the price this shouldn't happen. I had to get a separate tote to keep it in for the rest of the trip. The device itself is designed for people with a longer neck than mine, so if you have a short neck, it's not that comfortable. It still worked, but was like a turtleneck pulled partway up my face. It's also a bit cumbersome to wrap the scarf around and find the right spot to velcro. This could be a challenge for anyone with limited arm/shoulder mobility. Speaking of velcro, the velcro closure of the travel pouch is industrial strength, so it was a battle every time to get the pillow out of it. No joke, it was like trying to pry open the jaws of a pitbull. Lastly, the material feels very cheap — like dollar store fleece. Not very nice against the skin. I think I will wear a nicer scarf under it next time. Or since I have to sew a new bag for it, maybe I will just sew an entirely new cover for the device itself. Which is a lot of work for something so pricey.

Shockingly comfortable
I bought a few different pillows for travel (if you can call this a pillow). I was surprised at how comfortable this one is. I’ve used it when sitting on the couch reading, which often leads to napping. This lets me fall asleep (upright) without moving, which inevitably wakes me up and defeats the purpose of the nap. It’s true about no more head bobbing.I don’t know how durable it is. I’ve only used it a few times and it hasn’t gotten dragged through an airport yet. I expect the solid plate in it will hold up well. The fleece part I’m not sure about. It’s not super soft. If it’s going to fail, it will probably be the fabric. I haven’t washed it yet, so I don’t know if that will change anything. My only challenge is getting it wrapped properly. It’s awkward and I often get a tighter band of fabric across the center of my throat because I struggle to get the velcro attached.Still, I love this thing. Because of the bent plate, doesn’t pack down as nicely as a true pillow, but attached to a carry-on it should be fine. It’s coming with me from now on whenever I travel.
