Alien Isolation (PS4)

It’s an awesome game, really quite atmospheric

Scary, you betcha!Bought as a gift for someone who didnt believe a computer game could be that scary.A must for all 'Alien' fans, captures the atmosphere of the 1st movies perfectly, and a challenge for general survival horror fans too.And when you finish it go and look at the completion stats to see how many people started but didnt/couldnt.Best played in low light with surround sound (with noise sensitivity on and a mic headset as the alien reacts to noises you make outside of the game, and you will make noises) with a cat skulking around.Not built on jump scares (though there are a few well place strategic scares) and not particularly gory or gruesome, its just terrifying!!! Nerve shreddingly terrifying.This is the 1st and only game I have ever reviewed and I though only discovered it in 2019 its a 2014 release. Nice game for 2014, even looks too good for the day.A much underrated classic, but def not for the weak hearted.

Very scary and very addictive

Exactly what you want from a horror game, to be so scared that you spend an embarrassing amount of time hiding instead of trying to progress. The atmosphere and attention to detail here is top-notch, I really felt like I was living the experience, not just playing game. It was tense from the start and does a good job keeping you guessing when the Alien is going to make it's first appearance, but to be fair as terrifying as it was the times when I did encounter the Alien, I did not have as much trouble avoiding it as I did the humans/androids.If you want a game that is all about the fear factor I highly recommend playing this, will keep you on your toes...and maybe in those hiding spots longer than you'd like!

I basically bought this game because I've got it for the PS3 but didnt even get halfway through it on that console , but I have a PS4 AND a bigger better tv now and graphically PS3 games dont look great so had to buy Alien Isolation for the PS4 and definitely intend to play it to the end. Im a big sci fi/horror fan anyway and did enjoy all of the Alien movies , so this was a must buy game. How things have progressed since the PS1 Alien Trilogy game.

Very atmospheric and true to the original movie, but can be frustrating at times. A lot of repeating the same scenes because you die from luck rather than skill where there was no chance to react in time..Some great attention to detail, overall a good if not great game.
