Since most of the time these will be flipped up when not in use what does the underside look like, is it the hideous looking underside shown in pics?

Mine are powder coat black and have a smooth finish on the bottom side when flipped up, nothing “hideous” about them.

Can the boards be changed?

Do these fit a 2013 canam se5?

You'll have to buy a mount that fits your bike and drill the holes in the box

Will it fit a 2016 slim low Harley

I’m not familiar with the Harley slim, I would assume you could remove your rear pegs and these would bolt in their place, but slight modification may be required.
