Will Overheating Be An Issue!!!!
Very bright indeed. But I am worried about the temperature that they get too. Left a light going connected directly to a battery and after about 15 minutes it was too hot to touch. I checked the temp with an infrared thermometer and the temp reached 144° F. Must test further to give creditable results. Further tests show after 30 minutes temps reach 214° F. Water boils at 212°. So will it burn itself out! Only time will tell. P.S. I am using them as dome lights & back up lights. So it won't be on long enough to burn out.

a lotta light for the money
I can't believe these work so well. The wire going into the frame looked like a point of failure, so I spread a bit of "GOOP" around them to act as a strain relief and seal. I mounted 2 in the grille of my F-250 that come on with the ignition to act as daytime running lights. I had a sheriff deputy advise me they were too bright and for off-road use only. I moved them a few inches lower and haven't had any more complaints. Bought a 2nd pair and thinking about adding them as extra backup lights.09/22/16 follow-up on this review: After about 20,000 miles of driving with these lights always on, they have started to fail. Almost half of the individual LEDs have gone very dim - now dim yellow instead of bright white. Considering their price, not a bad deal, if you wire them with slip-on connections and can get to your wiring to swap them out.

Great for under cabinet lighting!
I got a pair of these (with a 12V power supply and plug adapter, like the RockBird RB-1202) to try as desk lighting to mount under my hutch. I will get more like this for kitchen undercabinet lighting. This definitely puts off a bright cold blue temperature light, so I will look for something a bit warmer for the kitchen. Mounting is simple and discreet (~3/16" thick) and self-contained, which makes it a cleaner mounting choice than LED strip lights (5050 chips were my previous favorites). One star deducted due to loose grommets that I presume were otherwise intended to seal the lights against weather if mounted as shown on a car. Both of mine pulled out readily, slightly exposing the wires - see photo. I presume one would see a short circuit after some rain and highway splatter).

They have lasted quite a while at this point and have been very happy. At close range
I use these as turn signals in a custom application. They have lasted quite a while at this point and have been very happy. At close range, they are quite a lot brighter than the incandescent headlights..

Good lights.
Very bright, very clean light. These strips are currently mounted under the hood of my SUV giving me a clear view of the engine bay as I'm working under there. The light is slightly blue, which is typical with this style of LEDs. No idea of exact light output, but when placed side by side with a strip of NeoPixels set to full white, these strips appear brighter. The length of the built in wires is sufficient for applications where you can tie in to existing power nearby, but extra wire was necessary for my application.

Not for the elements/rough conditions
These are very bright LEDs that provide a lot of light in a small location. Im using these in 2 different applications; on my bicycle as a 'fog' light and at my desk for a lamp.Using these on my bicycle I got a feel for the durability of the product. After a couple of months the outer shell is starting to split apart from COB LED, exposing the solder joints. I dont leave my bike outside all the time, only when in class or at school, the rest of the time it's in a garage. I also live in California so its only seen one rain once or twice. The board itself is also fragile, currently there is a nice circular dead spot of LEDs from most likely a rock being kicked up the front wheel. This is a bicycle, so a car traveling at speed while probably destroy one of these.Using these as a desk lamp is also interesting. They provide a lot of light for reading or writing out problems. Currently its mounted on the underside of my monitor since its on a swing arm I can position it if need be.In either of these applications my biggest complaint is these get very hot even if they only draw 500mA. I dont like leaving it on as a desk lamp since it heats up the lower portion of my monitor. In the case of the bicycle I question longevity of the adhesive strip from all the heat. This would be good for small led projects that are not exposed to the elements or rough conditions for extended periods of time. I would not use them as pictured, as DRL or fog lights, theyre are far to fragile and too bright for fogs anyways. To sum it up:Very Bright (White)Small/Convenient formAdhesive seems to be of quality, I doubt its 3M thoughCable sheath is reasonably thick/solid for the wires500mA @ 12v drawCons:Runs HOTCasing not secured to boardNot weatherproofDurability

Received very poor products.
This is a very poor product. This is the cheapest set of lights I've ever received. they are nothing like in the picture. I received two led lights that are big and Bulky and not very bright. Some hardware was missing as well. very disappointing.
