you dig ANYTHING from that bygone era of sex and horror then this will satisfy your cravings
This glossy book is loaded with all of the craziest, goriest, necrophilia driven Illustrations from sleazy Italian Horror comics of the 1970s and 80s. If any of that offends you, this is not your book. If, however, you dig ANYTHING from that bygone era of sex and horror then this will satisfy your cravings! On the technical side this book is beautifully printed and a good window into how illustrators worked 30-40 years ago. You'll notice exact likenesses of Christopher Lee and Bela Lugosi, and Vincent Price woven into these collage like covers. Illustrators called movie stills "Photo Scrap" and had full right to use them as Illustrations and but not photographs. Also, old school illustrators were heavily trained in drawing the figure. So all the figures-mostly women- look right. Nothing cartoony here. It's all well drawn and often was drawn quickly to make a deadline. If nothing else you've got to appreciate the speed and craft Taglietti had.

Classic semi-erotic cover art from the pulp magazines and books.
Review of Taglietti's cover art, and amusing reflection of early come-ons to buy a magazine.

I LOVE this series.
Another amazing volume in the Sex and Horror series..I LOVE the paintings of Taglietti and this book collects his best work from the Italian fumetti comix era. Beautifully produced with lots of artists reference photos and sketches. This and the Biffignandi volume are two of the best books I own now. I really hope the guys Korero keep publishing this kind of thing- Otherwise its a good chance this amazing stuff will be entirely forgotten! -William

I like exotic art work. These unusual pictures hit the mark. Some are fantastic. Some are tame by comparison or maybe I am just a bit jaded.

Excellent collection of Art from Brilliant Pulp Artist
This is a great collection of art from a terrific artist whose work is not as well known as his talent and skill deserve. This book features over 100 full-color images of Taglietti's art, about half of which are full page pictures. The pictures are grouped by the book or comic series which they were from, with a little history on each series giving some context to the images, which I also enjoyed. The print quality and binding are top-notch. All in all a great collection for fans of pulp art.

Risky but amazing
This book is amazing. I was never able to read the comics due to me only knowing English but having a collection of all these covers is perfect

Beautiful book!
I guess it was a great timing, I've been checking this book and the price was always around $100 but I found this at 1/3 of the prices I have seen. And yes, it is brand new and from Australia!

Amazing book highlighting the incredible work of Emamuelle Taglietti
Amazing book highlighting the incredible work of Emamuelle Taglietti. Taglietti's covers to Italian horror and crime comics each tell a story all by themselves. In the tradition of the early pulp magazines they offer excitement and adventure with a solid dose of T & A. Those unfamiliar with his work will be stunned and those familiar with fumetti covers will finally find a beautiful collection of his work to enjoy.

Sex And Horror: The Art Of Emanuele Taglietti.
The first volume in a series from Korero Press that currently consists of three volumes on different Italian artists. The title (and cover illustration) pretty much gives away the content; this volume showcases the rather more lurid work of graphic illustrator Emanuele Taglietti; I knew little about Taglietti till I picked this up, but his work has apparently been mistaken (and miss-attributed) to his compatriot Allesandro Bifignandi – an artist I do know about and the subject of volume two in the series. As one would expect, the work presented here appeared on magazine and book jackets through the 70s and 80s; there's no explicit sex, but plenty of sadomasochism, implied torture and violence all reproduced in glorious colour – with the original artwork as the main panel and a smaller illustration as it appeared on the published cover. The few available pictures in the product page blurb above give a fair impression of the content.A couple of short texts and some accompanying comments on some pieces or series provide useful commentary and context.A book that will no doubt be of interest to graphic artists and anyone into pulp fiction illustration – at the time of writing this the book has just been re-printed so grab it while it is available at an affordable price.
