Easily the Best Coat I've Ever Owned
I just picked this jacket up about a week ago, so this is a preliminary review since I haven't worn it in extremely cold temps or rain/snow yet. Once I do, I'll update this review. That being said, I love this jacket. First off, the patterning on the jacket is much less apparent that it appears in the Amazon photos. It really appears as solid black unless you take a very close look in good light. I'm glad because I think it looks more professional and I wear this coat to work. I'm comfortable wearing it as an overcoat with a suit. The outer layer is totally waterproof so far. I've run it under the sink for 60 seconds and the water just beads off. The last columbia jacket I had wasn't nearly as waterproof and I ended up applying a wash in waterproofer which was a pain in the ass. The outer layer is also very sturdy, so if you water it hiking or skiing I'd expect it to hold up easily. As far as warmth, I've been out in mid 30's with winds of 15-20mph and literally didn't feel a thing under the jacket. And the "wick away" no sweat fabric thing seem to work as well. I felt warm but completely dry and comfortable walking a mile or two in coldish weather. The hood and zip up collar provide great protection for your head and neck, though obviously for serious cold you'll want a hat as well. The zipper is sturdy and smooth as well. The sleeves have some elastic on the inside layer as well as draw strings around the waist to keep out wind. And both the inner and outer layers are reasonably warm alone. As far as fit, i'm 5'10'' 165 with 32 waist and 38 shoulders and I got a medium. It fits well, but with a fair amount of room underneath for layers and the sleeves reach to the first knuckle with arms at my side.Another thing I like is the omni-heat material on the inside shell. First off, if definitely seems to work at reflecting body heat back at you. Second, the smoothness allows you too easily slip the coat on and off without shirt or sweater (or suit jacket) jetting stuck on the sleeves. And for those worried about the shiny dots, they're totally invisible while you wear the jacket. Lastly, I have a cat and his hair gets on everything I own, and is particularly visible on black garments, but luckily his hair doesn't still to this jacket at all. I live in North Jersey and will be heading to Utah in December, so I should have an update on cold weather performance soon.UPDATE: So I've been through a few cold days now, and the coat performed pretty well. In the mid 30's I feel completely comfortable with no hint of cold inside the jacket. I was out in lower 20's with an approximately 15 mph wind and then you could start to feel a little chill through the coat, but still basically comfortable. I also only had on a thin button down shirt underneath because I wanted to test the coat. If I had put on an undershirt and sweater as I normally would at those temps, I think i would have been toasty down into the teens or single digits easily.

Very versatile, warm
Actually a bit too warm on some days, or for when you are going from the car to a store, you get hot in the store, but hey, its a coat designed to keep you warm right? According to the sizing guide I should have bought a medium, but I wear large for almost everything else. Well, I should have ordered a medium, but the large does fit ok. Love that it is 3 coats in 1, very versatile. Great in the rain, snow, wind, or all at the same time.

Pretty good.
I had hoped that it would be really warm. My old winter coat is down filled and is much warmer, so below about 32 degrees this columbia coat is not good enough by itself. That was a disappointment. Other then that it's good. Fit is pretty nice for me. I'm 6'6 and the sleeves and length were good on the size large. It is a little too roomy in the belly, I'm not over weight so it could be tailored a little better for my body type, but it is not bad.

Great in cold weather
I live in the twin cities and it has been -25 with wind chills up to -40. I bought this jacket for this type of weather and it has not failed me! I stay warm with just a long sleeve shirt under it and it cuts the wind completely. I thought the shiny inside would be just a gimmick but it actually makes a difference and keeps your body heat in. Great jacket for the price!

Doesn't have as many zippered pockets as I would like but I am a little picky
The coat is very light weight but warm. Doesn't have as many zippered pockets as I would like but I am a little picky. It is so light weight that is doesn't seam like one should feel warm but I have worn it for leisurely walks in 0F weather and was quite comfortable. I think got reflective liner does cut the blue tooth connection down a bit so I put my phone in an outside pocket when I am in the car.

Really nice coat
I wasn't sure my 15-year old would like this but I was wrong. First, it is really warm and completely snow-proof. The interior jacket is really nice on its own. One thing he really likes are the snaps--instead of the velcro strips on most ski jackets. It's just a really good-looking coat and makes a fabulous ski jacket. I like the fact that there is no big Columbia logo on the chest too.

Great Price! Great Product! 100% Satisfied!
I read a couple of reviews that stated that this coat was not warm. I retort, I live in Missouri where "if you don't like the season, wait a day" is what we live. Just last week I was wearing shorts in temps in the 70's, and by Sat night it was snowing again. This coat keeps me warm even when I am just wearing the OMNI-HEAT liner. I actually started sweating with it on in 23 degree weather. This would be a perfect ski jacket as it has a ton of pockets and does a great job of reflecting your body heat back to you. I would fully recommend this coat to anyone. No problems at all with the retailer, everything was "as promised".

the sleeves are nice and long
This jacket is really neat in that the size is adequate...I am 6'4" and weigh in at 245....the sleeves are nice and long, and come about to the middle of my hands....when I am driving, the coat feels really nice as the body of the jacket is also nice and long....the jacket is nice and loose in that it is not heavy, but is nicely insulated with the Omni-tech material.....The jacket design it'self is very attractive and has a sporty look and feel .I like the act that I have purchased something that was made for my size....not really, and not really small
