this bedpan is gold colored for a reason, because it can hold up!! my mother had a stroke and needed one and out of the few I bought this one was one of 2 that was actually great and still going 8 months later. if you want something durable this is it!

Appropriate size

Due to a series of strokes, my wife is pretty much confined to bed and uses a bed pan multiple times a day. After trying a couple of others, that were uncomfortable or would spill easy, I ordered the Medegen. This unit is the very best. It's comfortable and it's designed to be handled easily and not to spill.

Received the wrong bedpan, but to review the one I got, it's horribly small, almost child-sized, flimsy and the plastic rim will tear sensitive skin on the legs and buttocks. AND they want it back to replace it! I'm sorry, but I wouldn't be reusing a "disposable" bed pan. ADDENDUM: Amazon resent the SAME ONE in exchange, and it was used and broken.. OMG I'm dead.

Easy to use and clean

It's hard for patient, and hard to use, useless.

While I like the idea of this being low-profile, and having the rounded edges, it was WAY bigger than I expected. I wish it were a typical size they use in hospital settings, which is what I assumed, but the description doesn't give any size dimensions. This was made of good, heavier plastic than the disposable ones used in most nursing settings. I sent it back only because of it's larger size, because my mom is very small and this would have been too bulky for her to manage properly. If it was of average, or smaller, I would have been VERY VERY happy. Otherwise, I think this bedpan is excellent for anyone who needs it.

This bedpan is a godsend!! It works just like a standard fracture pan with 2 important differences. First it is much more comfortable with its softly curved edge. Second it holds so much more than a standard pan eliminating the awful spills & overflows we always had to deal with.
