Solid, Simple, and Reliable Gigabit Switch
I bought the TP-Link LS1005G 5-Port Gigabit Switch to expand the number of Ethernet ports in my home network, and it’s been working flawlessly. Setup couldn’t be easier, just plug it in and it works instantly. No configuration, no software, and no hassle. All five ports deliver full gigabit speeds. It handles multiple devices without any slowdowns. The unit is compact, lightweight, and silent since it’s fanless, making it perfect for a desk or entertainment center. Build quality feels solid for the price. Overall, this is an excellent value if you need a reliable, affordable Gigabit Ethernet switch. Highly recommended.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Great Value and Solid Performance - No Speed Drop at All
This TP-Link LS1005G switch is a brilliant little hub for the price. I’ve had zero speed loss when using it - everything runs smoothly, whether it’s for streaming, gaming, or general network traffic. Plug and play setup was effortless, and it’s been rock-solid since. The compact design works well for desktop or wall mounting, and the plastic case feels sturdy enough for everyday use. Ideal for expanding your wired network without breaking the bank. Highly recommended if you need extra ports and reliable gigabit speed.

Amazing, but has a drawback
Runs amazingly, looks good and has incredible signal strength. The setup was just plugging in the device and plugging in the inbound ethernet cable and the outbound cable, the box isnt too bright to be noticeable but reflects light due to its design. 4 stars because of the lack of a normal power option (USB C), it requires a barrel jack to setup.

Cheap and Cheerful
I needed an additional switch for a short term network redesign before a full redesign later this year with a larger switch and patch panel so bought the cheapest gigabit switch on Amazon. £7.99 at the time. I see complaints about this switch in other reviews so lets start with the negative to get it out of the way. Negative - the switch feels cheap and plasticy. Feels like something from a Christmas cracker. - Status lights don't blink on activity, only static on connection. This may be a positive if the switch is not hidden but mine are hidden and I prefer status blinking for diagnosis That is it for the negatives. Nothing deal breaking there for most people Positives - very small and compact - runs cold so no worries with heat - full gigabit ports - anyone saying speed issues should check their cables or QoS settings on their router. cat6a gives me no issues. - takes heavy throughput easily - I have a gaming / streaming PC, nas and server running several vm's connected to this which get simultaneously accessed by multiple devices on the network with no issues Performance is exactly the same as the netgear pro safe switches which I usually buy and have served me well for years Switch is wired back to router so no issues. If you wire back to another switch before the router, you may see performance drop Overall very pleased with it and works perfectly until I swap this and my netgear switch for a managed enterpise switch later this year My other advice for home users is don't use the rubbish (usually yellow) Ethernet cable your internet provider gives you. Invest in some cat 6 or cat 6a. it makes a difference

I bought one - then I bought another :)
These are great little switches. TP-Link's build quality has always been excellent for me, and it's also reliable. I have two of these in use and actually came here today to buy a third, but then I noticed I hadn't left a review yet. If you are looking for the "set it and forget about it" solution, look no further - this is all you need. My connections over the Ethernet have been stable with no problems in capability. There isn't much to say about its appearance; you wouldn't keep something like this on display. However, for what it is, it looks the part.

5/5 stars - simple, stable gigabit networking at a sensible price
I bought this switch to expand a small wired network supporting mixed workloads, including a desktop, media devices, and a home server, where consistency matters more than features. In day to day use it behaves exactly as an unmanaged gigabit switch should. All five ports negotiate at full speed, sustain simultaneous traffic without packet loss, and require no configuration. Throughput remains stable under load, and several long transfers between a NAS and workstation confirmed that the backplane is not a bottleneck in typical home or light office scenarios. This reflects the dominant feedback from other users who highlight reliability and true gigabit performance. Physically, the plastic enclosure keeps cost and weight down and runs cool due to the fanless design, which is appropriate for continuous operation behind a desk or television. The lack of activity blinking on the LEDs and the lightweight feel are minor compromises rather than functional issues. It is not intended for managed networks or advanced diagnostics, but for simple expansion it performs to specification and offers excellent value.

I needed more wired Ethernet ports in my home setup, and the TP-Link LiteWave 5-Port Gigabit Desktop Switch delivered exactly what I expected. It was truly plug-and-play — I connected it to my router and instantly had five additional Gigabit ports ready to use, with no configuration required. The connections feel stable and fast whether I’m streaming, gaming, or transferring files. The fanless design keeps it silent, and its compact size fits easily on a shelf or desk without getting in the way. If you want a no-nonsense way to expand wired network ports with gigabit speeds, this switch is a dependable and affordable solution. ✔ Simple setup, reliable performance, and ideal for home or small office networking.
