My Big Train Book (My Big Board Books)

Vivid and Educational!
This was purchased for my three year old son obsessed with trains. Life would be trains 24/7 in our house if he had his way. Right now the best way to capture his attention is with imagery and talk of trains, and this book definitely hit the mark.PROS:- The book is large enough to sit comfortably in his lap.- The pictures and colors are very vivid, there are TONS of pictures of trains.- The narrative is very simple and there is a lot of opportunity for kids to learn and repeat new words.- Each picture is labelled with an associative word.- Engages the reader by asking questions.- Sturdily made board book.CONS:- The book isn't written as a story which may bore older kids (which isn't really a con depending on what you're looking for.)This is one of my son's favorite books and he is able to call out different trains while we are out and about which has impressed many adults. A three-year-old who knows the difference between a freight train, a diesel train, and a "high speed commuter train" is pretty cool!

Amazing Train Book
A fantastic, colorful book of trains from around the world, which is enjoyed over and over by the 5 yr old. He’s a train connoisseur 😂 and never tires of this book. Using Google to research the various models and tyoes has helped me learn too.

Good starter if you want to read with your kids and let them start handling a book on their own.
This is a very sturdy and colorful book for very young people who are being introduced to reading. There are a lot of pictures of trains, as you might expect, mainly locomotives. There are a few words on every page. It's a great book to sit down with to read with a young person - you can point to the pictures as you read the captions, you can talk about the things in the photos, pointing out details and maybe making up little stories. The pages are what they call a board book - a heavy material you can trust to hold up if your little person wants to look at it on their own. The train pictures come from around the world, so you can add that to the conversation as well. No plot to speak of, no character development - just a a fun book to look at for some quality family time.

Worth every penny!
My highly inquisitive (& spiritual) 3.5 yr old is obsessed with trains (and the story of Noah & Jericho from the Bible). He SLEEPS with a different toy train & an animal from his Noah's ark every night. He talks about trains in his sleep. All he wants to watch on TV is trains (& Noah's ark & Jericho) and knows the different types of engines, old and new, their numbers, types (steam, deisel, electric, etc.) He has moved beyond the Thomas stage. He is more interested in "Real trains." It's facinating... Therefore, when I purchased this book, he was enthralled. He actually told me what each engine was as we looked through it and takes it out to show to others to "teach" them about trains. This is a wonderful book with vivid pictures, cardboard, so it's sturdy... well worth the price. And it was delivered VERY quickly. He also loved "Goodnight Train" and has already "memorized" the entire book. I am EXTREMELY satisfied considering it is so difficult to please my son who knows more than I do about the subject of trains. ;oD

Great for children who love trains
Our 2-year-old loves trains, and this is one of his favorite train books. He has his favorite pictures he likes to point out and enjoys paging through this book every day. This book would be best for younger children who are still more into the pictures than story or plot, as all of the pages look like the cover: various trains with a description underneath the picture. There is also a question at the bottom of each page, such as "Which is your favorite high-speed train?" or "Which train travels under the ground?"It is a large book, too large for a baby to hold, but toddlers who can walk should be able to carry it.
