I had been using a sharpener from Harbor Freight for 25 years and always wondered why my chains were never sharp like new. Now I know exactly what was wrong, that old one was junk.The first time I used it, it was absolutely amazing and setting up for cutting takes just a minute and then I was off to the races.It goes through a 20” maple that’s been laying on the pile for two years like a hot knife through butter saving me time and money.Thanks for the great product, I’m lovin it !RICK

It does a decent job of sharpening but I thought it would be more plug and play. Once you have it setup, you can’t just blindly sharpen each tooth; you need to inspect each tooth as you sharpen it to confirm cleanup and sharpening right to the cutting edges. Once it’s set and you develop the muscle memory and finesse (the sharpener has too much flex and looseness) , you’ll be able to do a decent job. Way better than hand filing or Dremel sharpening stones. Not as sharp or as consistent as my Timberline but way faster and less fatiguing.I’ve been using it to sharpen the chains for my Multitek Processer with the forestry chains. I’ve sharpened 20 so far and can now do 4/hour.Like another reviewer, I found a loose ball bearing (see attached picture) rolling around in the packaging when I opened it. Still not sure where it belongs or if it even belongs with this.Update: I discovered where the “loose ball bearing” came from. There are 2 of them under the chain holder assembly where you rock the assembly front/back to adjust for the undercut of the tooth. They provide a detent and positive positioning when adjusting. It must have popped out during shipping and I was fortunate to notice it.

Quality product.I recommend this grinder, it is good value.

No more waiting to get chains sharpened. Should have bought one years ago. I bolted down to a bench. Works well and has quiet operation. Key is to know what type of chain and cut angles you have. Its a bit of a learning curve to get everything set up.. Thanks for including a dressing stick. You will need to dress the side of the wheel with this stick occasionally to keep wheel sharp and dressed.
