They're a lot longer than a regular pair of 5a's and each pair typically lasts me 2 months. I would recommend these for rock or metal. These are not good for jazz; in that case I would recommend Vic Firth's Peter Erskine Ride Stick which sounds amazing in any dynamic range. It really depends on what genre you're playing and what sound you're going for but if you play loud, these are for you. Definitely will continue to buy these whenever I run out!

As a drummer, sticks are very important. Balance, weight all around feel. Classic 5As never did it for me. Too light in the tip, short and not very durable. My sticks of choice had been Vader Pro Rocks or Promark 747s until I was introduced to the Extreme 5A from Vic Firth. I found I was able to get great bounce back off my drum heads. Paradiddles and basic rolls feel effortless. The design is everything I have been looking for in a stick. They are slightly longer than the classic 5A. More weighted in the tip and are evenly balanced for superior technique. I LOVE these sticks.

I have tried all kinds of makes and models and I have ended up with these. It is the perfect stick in every way. The size, the length, the weight, the balance. Do yourself a favor and get the EXTREME 5As by Vic Firth. There’s nothing out there like it. Trust me. Hope they never stop making these.

I like the feel of these sticks. They are a classic 5A with a little bit extra reach. This means a little more weight and extra leverage. I prefer these over 5Bs as the 5Bs can be a little too heavy and thick. I find 5As to be a little light, while these feel just right. I have had one break quickly the first time I've played it. I can't say I was happy about that, however another pair I've played have lasted much longer. Because of the stick breaking, I've rated these sticks 4 out of 5 stars.

The description says "for the 5A player who wants a bit more power and reach". This is absolutely the best way to describe it. I always tend to use heavier sticks because I like getting that extra half-inch reach. But in practice settings, 5Bs or "rock" sticks are just a bit too much for me. Plus I've always preferred the lighter sticks. Granted, stick size is all about personal preference. So as far as quality goes, these things hold up! The sticks are well matched, nice quality, and resistant to breaking. I have yet to break one of these sticks lengthwise (I always wear out the tips and taper before the stick ever breaks). I will continue to use these sticks for a long time to come! Highly recommend.

The normal Vic Firth set would have been better for me. I don't have a drum kit.

Ich wollte mit dem Trommeln anfangen, aber nicht direkt ein richtiges Schlagzeug kaufen, bevor ich überhaupt weiß, ob ich wirklich dabei bleibe. Nach etwas Recherche habe ich gesehen, dass man für den Anfang gut mit einem Practice Pad und Drumsticks üben kann, deshalb habe ich mir diese Sticks bestellt. Ich kenne mich mit Drumsticks noch nicht besonders gut aus, aber bisher bin ich zufrieden. Ich übe damit immer wieder zwischendurch auf einem Übungspad, und dafür funktionieren sie für mich sehr gut. Sie liegen angenehm in der Hand und machen auf mich einen soliden Eindruck. Für fortgeschrittene Drummer kann ich sie nicht wirklich beurteilen, aber aus Anfänger-Sicht finde ich sie absolut passend. Nach dem, was ich recherchiert habe, sind sie eine gute und vernünftige Wahl für den Einstieg.

Amazing sticks,,, vic firth had proved it once again,, quality product and durable too, no words to describe,, was using 5A but these are much more lighter that normal 5A’s,, gives you so much power and feel on the drum kit, weather it is acoustic or electric.. so glad to have them.. everybody should try these sticks..
