S.T. Dupont Hooked Gold Lighter

Waste of money. Expected it to perform like my (DuPont) MaxiJet, which I had just lost. Thought I’d give this a try. The Hooked fires only randomly, averaging about once per 5-8 tries. No fuel gauge means I also run out of butane at inopportune times. Putting this Hooked lighter on the shelf to gather dust. Received my new MaxiJet today, and, as expected, it fires every time.

It’s decent golden color, not those cheap low golden color. Instead of polishing, the surface is kinda frosted that makes it elegant. By the way, using regular gas works on this lighter too! The only not perfect thing is that material is not tough enough.

The first time I purchased the Dupont hooked lighter in gold. The seller sent me a empty box. a month later i got my refund and re ordered. What a mistake. 46 pounds for a cigarette lighter. The most expensive lighter I have ever purchased. Is it the best? In a word no. Looked good first week and works well. So it should at the price. The first thing I noticed is the poor paint quality. A one pound lighter has a better quality finish to be honest. After exactly one month of use the paint has flaked off about half of the lighter. This is not acceptable on a lighter that costs a pound. Let alone one that is touted as a luxury item I feel this is the worst product made by dupont they have really lowered the quality of the product in my opinion. There are many lighters made in China sold from 2 to 10 pounds and to be honest they are probably all better than this. Its products like this that really make a company image suffer. All they had to do was paint it. Zippos are a quality lighter for half the price. Don't waste your money on this piece of junk. It's so bad that I would class it as a poor quality knock off.

Leider löst sich schon nach kurzer Zeit der Lack des Feuerzeuges ab. Eigentlich sehr schade für eine Marke mit diesem Namen "DUPONT". Ansonsten ein tolles Feuerzeug. Leider wahr das dann für mich das Letzte Dupont.
