Shadow Catchers: Camera-less Photography

Stunning, creative, and filled with ideas and concepts!
Camera-less photography? Is that an oxymoron? The classical definition of photography typically included a camera. However, that definition has been expanded over time to include producing an image without a camera, such as photogram, lumigram, chemigram, luminogram, lumenprint, rayograph, and laptopogram. I’m not completely convinced. There is no doubt that the first images created using photo-sensitive materials were done without the use of a camera obscura, and that’s covered in the first chapter “Traces” in this beautifully presented and well written book.Regardless of the inherent argument, this book presents the work of five artists, whose work is stunning in their creativity and execution. The most important aspect of each artist’s work is about how their work was produced, That in itself is worth the price of this book, and provides the reader with ideas and concepts that can be a useful spark for their own creations, with or without a camera.

Mmmmmm
El libro es muy bueno pero me tocó un ejemplar con algunas hojas un poco dañadas por problemas de imprenta. Finalmente decidí no hacer el proceso de devolución por el riesgo de recibir otro con los mismos problemas.
