Perfect fit for GE JBP22OF3AD
This was a perfect replacement broiler element for my GE JBP22OF3AD. It was the exact size as the original and the screw hole spacing in the mounting plate also matched the original. Note that the connecting wires are screwed on to the element rather than just sliding on as shown on some Youtube videos. This makes installation a bit more challenging since the wires only extend a couple of inches from the back of the oven. Adding to the difficulty is that there are 2 overlapping wires that attach to one of the prongs. I had to use tape to hold the overlapping wires in place so that the holes in the end tabs of the 2 wires lined up. Since I didn't have any help, I also had to tape the wires to the thermometer on the back of the oven to keep the wires extended. Using one hand to hold the element and one hand holding a short nut driver with the very short screw on the end of the driver ( I had to use a bit of tape to hold the screw on so that it didn't fall off ), I was able to line everything up and got the screw started in the predrilled hole on the prong. I then found that the hole tightens up toward the end such that the prong started to bend as I tightened the screw and the wire tabs were still loose even though the screw didn't want to go further. I remove the element from the oven and use a ratchet to drive the screw all the way through while holding the prong's copper end with vise grip pliers so that the prong didn't get twisted as I forced the screw all the way through. Now that the screw hole has been appropriately "sized" to enable easy tightening once inside the oven, I removed the screw and prepped the other prong the same way. Once this had been done, I was able to finally get the oven wires screwed tightly onto the element (having a short nut driver helped with the process). After reattaching the back plate (I reused the original screws since the 2 new screws provided were phillips), I reattached the retaining clip that hangs from the top of the oven (this slides on from the end quite easily if you gently squeeze the element toward center). I then turned the circuit breaker back on and put the oven through a cleaning cycle - the new element worked great!

Saves Serious Bucks
Easy to install and working like a champ for two months now. I have a wall oven so this really was a life saver. As you know wall ovens are big bucks and rough to replace.

It fits and the price is great.
My GE stove from 1996 had its WB44X0173 broiler element burn out. Ordered this item after much searching. The mounting plate was an exact match for the original. It took me longer to reattach the rear panels on the stove than install the new element. Make sure to unplug the stove or turn off the circuit breaker before working on your stove. Great product!

Perfect Fit and Quick Delivery
I contacted GE Customer Service to ask them which broiler element my model JBP26WV2WW range requires. They looked it up and said I needed a model WB44X0185 replacement broiler element, which they would sell me for $75. I found this item on Amazon.com for under $17.Some things you need to know.- First, the item arrived in only 2 days -- not the 7-12 days that was estimated. The item was well packaged, arrived without damage, and also included 2 screws (in case yours are lost or too corroded to reuse)- Second, I read a number of reviews where buyers expressed frustration with the screw holes in the mounting plate not aligning with the original holes in the oven. I did not have this problem. The holes aligned perfectly, so either the manufacturer corrected their mounting template, or their replacement part is identical to the original.- Third, the electrical connections are not the slide-in type, but are the much more safe and secure screw-in type. Installation is trickier, but I was able to remove the old broiler element and install the replacement within 30 minutes. This included locating the right size tool to remove the 2 nuts holding up the ceiling mount, element mount, and electrical connections. (TIP: Before disconnecting the electrical contacts, wrap a long twisty-tie to each wire so that they do not slip back into the range. If this happens, you'll need to remove the rear panel of your range and push the wires back through the opening and into the oven so they can be attached. There are several DIY YouTube videos showing you step-by-step procedures for replacing your broiler element. Oh, and turn off the electrical breaker before doing any work on your range.)While this replacement broiler element says that it will replace model WB44X173 and WB44X185 broiler elements, I can tell you that it's a perfect replacement for the model WB44X0185 part recommended to me by GE Customer Support (not sure why there's that added zero) and that the holes in the mounting plate align perfectly with those in my GE range.

GE Broiler Element Replacement
Like so many of the others reported, the hole alignment with the mounting plate is slightly off (bummer). Luckily you can get away with using one screw to hold it in place since the upper element has a support bracket to help secure it. Otherwise, you would have drill a new hole for the proper alignment for both screws to be used. Works great, at half the price. Delivery was fast, and it arrived damage free.

Not necessarily the same part as depicted.
I ordered this part based solely on the picture since item dimensions weren't stated. The photo is exactly the same as the part I needed to replace. The item I received was different than the item pictured and was too small for my oven. If the photo had been accurate to what I received I would not have ordered since the part I received is listed by other sellers with the dimensions and I would have known the part wouldn't fit.It is possible that some people that order this part will get exactly the same part as shown but unfortunately this wasn't so in my case.
