I bought this scratching post for my two adult cats, and I have to say, I'm pretty impressed. I was a bit worried when I saw how thin the base was in pictures, but it's actually much sturdier than I expected. My cats are pretty big and active, and even when they're really going at it, the post doesn't tip over. It stays put, which is a huge relief. The height of the post is the best part. At 80cm, it's perfect for a full-grown cat to get a proper, full-body stretch. That's a really important thing for their health and for keeping them from scratching up my couch. The jute material on the post is also a big win. It's a natural fiber that they really seem to enjoy digging their claws into, and it's holding up well after a few months of use. It's much better than a carpeted scratching post which can feel too soft for a cat who really wants to sharpen their claws. The only real downside for me is the little dangling toy at the top. It's a fun idea, but my cats ripped it off in about 30 seconds. So if you're buying this, don't expect the toy to last long. It's a minor thing, though, since the main purpose is the scratching post itself, and it excels at that. Overall, if you're looking for a simple, tall, and sturdy scratching post that's a good value for the money, this is a fantastic choice, even for adult cats.

Cat loves it, took a couple of days but absolutely loves getting a good scratch n stretch! Easy to put together, extremely sturdy. If you don't have a lot of room, this is great, her Majesty patrols from the top of it too. Worth every penny in my eyes.

This scratching post has been a great addition for my indoor cat. The height is excellent compared to many smaller scratching posts, giving my cat enough room to fully stretch while scratching. The overall quality feels very good for the price, and the scratching material seems durable so far. My cat started using it from day one, which was really welcome. The dangling toy also helped keep her interested and engaged. The only part I wasn’t too keen on was the base design. It’s larger than it probably needs to be, and because it folds in the middle, the centre section feels slightly unsupported around the crease area. It still works fine overall, but a more solid one-piece base would make it feel sturdier. No missing screws or confusing diagrams here. Build Quality: Much sturdier than I expected. The base has good weight to it and doesn't wobble or tip when my cat really goes at it. The sisal rope wrapping appears well-secured and shows no signs of loosening after a week of daily use. The materials feel appropriately soft where they need to be - comfortable for paws but durable enough for serious scratching. Maintenance: Too early to comment on long-term cleaning needs after just a week, but the materials appear straightforward to maintain. The sisal surface doesn't seem to trap debris, and any loose fur brushes off easily. Cat Approval: My Russian Blue took to it immediately - no coaxing needed. The height (80cm) is perfect for a full stretch, which seems to be exactly what she was looking for. The dangling toy was a nice bonus that keeps her engaged. Value: For an Amazon Basics product, this punches above its weight class. I've seen similar posts at pet stores for significantly more money that don't feel as solid. Overall: If you need a reliable, well-built scratching post without the premium price tag, this delivers. One week in and both cat and owner are happy with the purchase.

First picture is their new tree and second is their old one. Bought as I needed to replace old one that was bought in 2023 so it lasts a lot longer than other cat trees and all four of my cats love and use this. Good quality fact old one pretty much lasted 3 years. Well packaged and easy quick to build that I’m thinking of getting another one now in bigger property and because how much my cats love this as it’s sturdy good height for them I do have scratching post beds for them but they never last as long as these ones highly recommended ⭐️

Surprisingly sturdy. Ordering again; it lasted 5 months in an 8 cat household. Never tipped over, nice and tall so suitable for bigger cats. It really took a beating and survived as well as expensive posts. New one arriving tomorrow, I’ll add some video.

Absolutely brilliant for the price didnt expect it to be so big and bulky!!! Very easy to put up very sturdy for my maine coon and 2 other cats. Hopefully they leave my sofa alone 🤣 will definitely be buying again when I need to upgrade looks good in my loving room the colour matches my decor. Can see my big cat having fun with it. Decent value for the price.

Best cat scratcher I've ever had. My cat is not a fan of cat trees or usual toys, but she goes crazy on this thing and it holds up! Very sturdy (especially for the price) plus it's pretty cute ;) Definitely recommend

This is perfect size for my cat, he is a 2 year old male but always been a bit on the smaller side. He can tug on this and it won’t tip over. This also took less than 5 minutes to assemble. It didn’t take long for him to figure out the bristle feature either. I thought it might take awhile because he has never had one of those only regular scratchers, but we found him rubbing on it later that day. So yeah a normal one of these scratchers is around $20 at the store sometimes more than that and they typically are just the scratch post, this one is good value because it has two features for your kitty to enjoy. I suggest getting this and getting another cardboard plank scratcher for one single cat, if I only had this scratch post for him he would probably tear through it pretty fast but give your kitty at least one other scratch plank and this will make this scratch post last way longer. Also, I trim my cats nails as needed. My cat runs to his post whenever my boyfriend gets home and gets ready to feed him. Cats need to scratch for exercising muscles, letting out energy/excitement and I actually just read it’s a way for them to mark territory. My cat doesn’t really scratch on our furniture, never has. He has always had 2-3 items of his own he can scratch on.

Update nach mehreren Monaten Nutzung: Anfangs hatte mein Kater den Kratzbaum kaum beachtet. Ich dachte zunächst, es läge an seinen noch kurzen Krallen. Rückblickend war es aber wohl eher der Umzugsstress – und dass der Baum im aufrechten Zustand nicht einladend genug für ihn wirkte. Als ich ihn testweise hingelegt habe, änderte sich das sofort: Seitdem nutzt mein Kater ihn täglich und sehr aktiv. Besonders beeindruckt bin ich davon, dass auch bei regelmäßiger Nutzung kaum Kratzspuren zu sehen sind – ein starkes Zeichen für hohe Materialqualität und Langlebigkeit. Das kleine Spielzeug wird gelegentlich bespielt, und es gibt sogar ein Ersatzteil dafür – ein nettes Plus. Fazit: Dieser Kratzbaum überzeugt durch Design, Qualität und Alltagstauglichkeit. Ich habe den Amazon Basics Kratzbaum (ca. 40 × 40 × 90 cm) einige Wochen in Gebrauch und möchte meine Eindrücke teilen. Qualität & Material: Der Kratzbaum wirkt robust verarbeitet – die Basis ist schwer genug, dass er auch bei kräftigem Bespringen stabil bleibt. Der Teppich‐Bezug fühlt sich angenehm an und ist weich genug für Pfoten, strapaziert aber auch nicht zu schnell. Krallenpflege & Kratzverhalten: Meine Katzen nutzen vor allem den Teppich und die Seitenflächen intensiv zum Kratzen. Das Material bietet genug Widerstand, ohne die Krallen übermäßig zu beschädigen. Es erfüllt seinen Zweck, Möbel und Teppiche zu schonen. Komfort & Nutzung: Die Höhe ist sehr praktisch: Oben kann eine Katze „überwachen“, und unten gibt es genügend Fläche zum Liegen oder Springen. Meine Katzen nutzen beide Ebenen – sowohl zum Ausruhen als auch zum Spielen. Aufbau & Handhabung: Der Kratzbaum ließ sich relativ einfach aufbauen; alle Teile waren dabei und passten gut. Wichtig finde ich, ihn gleich auf einem festen, ebenen Boden zu platzieren, damit nichts wackelt. Optik & Integration ins Zuhause: Das braune Teppichdesign ist neutral und fügt sich gut in Wohnbereiche ein, besonders wenn du warme Holztöne oder Erdtöne im Raum hast. Er fällt auf, aber nicht störend. Verbesserungsvorschläge: Einige Stellen könnten mit der Zeit stärker beansprucht sein – z. B. die Teppichfläche. Eine Option mit austauschbaren Teilen wäre toll, damit man z. B. die obere Liegefläche nach Jahren ersetzen kann. Fazit: Für Katzenbesitzer, die einen großen, stabilen Kratzbaum suchen, der sowohl zum Kratzen als auch zum Entspannen taugt, ist dieses Modell eine gute Wahl. Meine Katzen fühlen sich offensichtlich wohl damit – ich würde ihn wieder kaufen.
