This sword is a great collector's/decorative piece. It is not sharpened but it does have point sharp enough to pierce. I wouldn't recommend trying to cut anything because all you'll do is damage the blade. You can however practice moves with it. The medallion that comes with it is also a great piece. The strap for the scabbard is meant for the left shoulder but since you can remove it, it's not really a problem.
