Ecotech 43119092: Aqua Illumination Prime Hd Reef Led Light Fixture, Blk 60W

This light is great I already have one on my 15 gallon Nano tank. But needed to buy another for my 40 Gallon tank. Tank is almost ready for an upgrade. This light is easy to control and easy to install. Love it.

I would HIGHLY recommend the AI prime for any of my fellow reefers, the tank I have this on is a JBJ RL45 and it has the perfect span for the whole tank. Light is super bright. Haven’t added corals or fish since just getting this tank set up, but so far great quality. You can adjust the lighting in the app for the deep blues or white lights, many different varieties as far as settings

Pros -Excellent brightness and spectrum coverage. I suggest using the AB+ preset (can be found on various forums and facebook groups)Can grow the most difficult of corals if sized and spaced correctlyFan runs as required, the puck is generally quietApp is featureful once learnedLong cord makes routing easyAI support is fantastic and responsiveConsLater firmware updates capped the maximum brightness (you used to be able to go significantly over 100%) This was done due to the lens burning out (the LED is fine, just the cover can become warped)Even with firmware updates, the lens can still 'burn out' however, this is a minor and easy repair. AI has been incredibly responsive about sending replacements. So long as the unit is well ventilated , capped no higher than 100% brightness and cleaned, you shouldn't encounter this issue.Other thoughts -I highly recommend purchasing the diffuser shroud from 3D reefing. It will lower the peak brightness a bit, but it blends the spectrum and lowers the 'discoball' effect.

I'm coming from always using Kessil. It was a bit of a learning curve for me using the app. Watched a few videos and I have the light on a 24hr schedule now. So far so good.

Might have to use something to diffuse the shimmer but the colors are fantastic

These lights are small but mighty. The colors are vibrant. App is easy to use.

I tried a highly recommended cheap tank light when I setup my 10g Nano. I just never could get the spectrum right and my corals never really took off. I haven't completed my 30 day acclimation period yet, but I can already tell a big difference. My corals already seem happier and my SPS that was struggling and starting to bleach has started rebounding.Many of the reviews mention that this is a Bluetooth only light and not a WiFi like previous versions. Yes, that is true. BUT, how often are you logging into your lights away from home and changing settings? I never used that feature even when I had the WiFi lights.

Light is sleek, very bright, and has a ton of customization available in the companion app. I specifically like the ability to import presets like Saxon's or BRS's settings from online. My biggest issues are that the light is not well diffused and leaves harsh shadows (as well as a "disco-ball" effect), the fan can get quite loud and hot at high settings, and it does not come with any mounting options.

Excellent leds. If you want excellent lighting for your reef go with these.
