Elf Logic 18" Easy Assembly, Battery Timer White LED Moravian Star - Hanging Outdoor Christmas Light - Use as Holiday Decoration, Porch Light, Advent, Wedding and Ballroom Venue Decor

EDIT: I hung this outside and it worked well for a week, and it was beautiful! But then it wouldn't light up, so I replaced the batteries, but it still wouldn't light up. I took out the bulb, looked it over, and it didn't appear that any of the filiments were burned, but I was going to buy an new bulb, just in case. However, I couldn't find exactly the same bulb on Amazon, so I started talking to customer service. They said it was from a seller so they would have to get back with me. They never contacted me, so I returned it for a refund. I haven't decided if I'm going to rebuy it, or a different one), again. Just waiting til they post my refund. I bought this Moravian Star to use on my deck/gazebo for Christmas decoration. I got it earlier this week (still October), so I went ahead and put it together, which was super easy. But I haven't yet used it, because I won't hang it until after Thanksgiving. I haven't yet set the timer, because it's too early. Once I do, I will come back to this and add information.

Easy to put together thanks to videos provided by other reviewers; never read the directions. I loaded it with 4 brand new AA batteries and it’s pretty bright. My husband turned the timer on them used our extendable pool pole with some open pliers taped on the end to hook the star over a small tree branch some 20 feet up. It was fun watching him trying to hook the little hook on a branch. We laughed a little over this clumsy act but it worked. You do have to put it up at dusk as I believe it starts once you hit the timer. This plastic star survived a nor’easter rain storm with 45-60 mph gusting winds. It was bouncing all around and getting beat up against the tree with zero damage. I’m quite happy with this purchase! I’ll update this review later with a day and night pix. You know at first I thought I messed up by getting the battery operated one instead of the plug in but now I realize this is much better as battery op allows for all kinds of installs. Got the 18 inch diameter one.

Just got it up today so I can't back up what I say with long term use but it was very easy to set up and am very pleased with the ease of using the timer. Because it was placed rather high in the tree we're hoping the batteries won't need to be replaced too frequently but for now we are more than satisfied with the light from this rather unique item.

The stars are pretty. Unfortunately, the cord is so cheap that it snaps between the battery pack and the bulb. This has happened consistently, and when I contacted Elf Logic, they said they were 'unauthorized' to help. Sadly, a waste of money.

Great little Moravian Star. Especially if you’re lacking electrical outlets outside. Just be careful with the bulb. It shatters easily and is nearly impossible to replace. The timer works well, it’s decently bright and it assembles in seconds.

This star arrived on time and is truly what I wanted as I want battery operated christmas decorations to avoid dealing with cords etc. However, the light bulb does not truly light the entire star to the end of its points. And after a week the batteries are running low already so I will have to rethink battery operated decor. I expected more from this product for the money I paid.

Right out of the box, it was easy to unfold and set the clamps. Actually, needed to have the light socket with bulb in place before clamping. The first one had a weak connection in the wires between the battery holder and the light socket. For some reason the electrical wires attached to the light socket needed to be spliced to the ones from the battery holder. The instructions said that the electrical wire might not be able to hold up when hanging the star. But in this case the electrical wires separated at the splice before I got to the actual hanging. The battery holder has a hook as if that is the way to hang it. When the replacement arrived (the first one was returned) I didn't even try to hang it by the hook on the battery holder since I did not trust that the splice in the electrical wires would hold. I just added my own hanging wire from the clamp on the star to the place from where I wanted to hang it. The battery holder is dark green and the rest is white. That is unsightly and something that should not occur. Just make the battery holder white like the rest. The batteries (4 AA) lasted about 1 week (on constantly). Next year I will use the timer so that it isn't on in the daytime. Nice but could be better.

I took a long time to decide to purchase this star because the price seemed very high. I wish that I bought it sooner though because it was well worth it. The plastic is not flimsy and it was very easy to put together. Also easy to change the batteries. The timer feature is great to have it automatically come on and turn off. I love it and it looks great hanging in my front porch.

Batteries are easy to change and look really pretty. However, just expect the batteries to slowly die and after about 2 weeks they still turn on with the timer but is very dim.

I was so excited to purchase this beautiful star, but what a disappointment it has proven to be. The product comes with a lightbulb that is quite dim and hardly illuminates the star. Much more wattage is required to light up the whole thing and make it truly visible in the dark. Given it is supposed to replicate the star of Bethlehem in the dark sky, you’d expect it to be far brighter. Unfortunately, attempts to purchase a brighter bulb on my own have proven fruitless, because the bulb base and socket size (E10) are not commonly used. I wanted to hang it from a tree in my front yard, but, in the end, it’s not worth the bother. if you were planning to hang it outside, save your money and look for something else.
