Can these be used as an underglaze and be used on greenware?

I put it on my greenware with moderate success, but it can peel off a little bit once bisqued. The package reccomends putting it on bisque

You'd need to check with Mayco...I use it in low fire kilns.

What type of clay base is used?

It doesn't say. Package says clay based product, but you may have to ask the manufacturer for the TYPE of clay.
