Dropin replacement (sort of)
OK, the missing star is because the keyboard that the laptop shipped with had the nubby pointer that looks like a pencil eraser in the keyboard and this keyboard does not. Look close in the item photo and its not there. So if you want an exact replacement this is not it. That being said, I never liked the pointer, never used it, and always used the touch pad or an external mouse. I could never figure out why I needed two pointers on the laptop anyhow. So from my perspective the missing pointer was a bonus.Otherwise the keyboard is a drop in replacement and the biggest problem in the replacement is locating a web site with good photos to figure out how to get the old (with broken keys, if you are curious) one out. Perfect fit and the screw holes (3) match up perfectly. Most of the labels on the key match (the "stand by" function [escape key] has no label and the "hibernate" key [F1] is labeled with a half moon instead of the word spelled out.) It popped in faster than it is taking me to write this review.

Perfect fit for a Latitude D630
My original keyboard had developed problems with the space bar and the C key and since it was out of warranty I ordered this for a replacement. It came very quickly with the standard shipping. Installation was quick. All that needed to be done was to carefully pop the bezel along the top of the keyboard loose using a small screwdriver and then remove a few small Philips screws. The keyboard levered out and I disconnected the ribbon connector on the old keyboard and plugged in the new one. After replacing the screws and snapping the bezel back in I powered it on and everything on the keyboard worked like new. This is a simple replacement that can be done by anyone with a modest amount of skill. The keyboard continues to work well on my Dell laptop.

Good aftermarket replacement
Had to find a replacement keyboard for my laptop after my three year old sticky fingers got to it and popped several keys which were beyond repair. Looked here at Amazon and found this inexpensive replacement. Not OEM quality but it is a pretty decent replacement. It installed without any problems and functions well. The key feedback feel is really close to OEM. I've now been using it for close to two years without issue and use the laptop about 16 hours a week. If this one wears out then I would be willing to purchase another....

Works like it was a new board. I like it and thats all that counts, yeah?
Look, the board came wrapped in cardboard, wrapped again inside the box with more cardboard, came in a static bag. Installed it all by myself and everything. What more do ya want? This company gets old lappys, strips off their parts, sells them cheap. Beats 50 bucks for a new one anyday. This company rocks, period. They delivered what they promised, got it quick, too.I would recommend using this company hands down. So let it be written; so let it be done.

So easy to change; took minutes; like getting a new laptop
During my first year of law school, I spilled a beer into the keyboard of my laptop. I spent a year being very frustrated because several of my keys stuck and didn't work. Finally, I ordered this and replaced the keyboard. I can't believe I waited so long.I have gone through several laptops in my life--including a POS Compaq that I bought more recently than the Dell, which proved to be the worst laptop ever. My Dell Latitude D630 is standing the test of time, and proving to be my favorite laptop ever. Knowing that this cheap and easy to use replacement keyboard is out there makes me like my laptop even more, because now I am prepared for the inevitable--my own subsequent destruction of this new keyboard.Even if your keyboard is fine now, I seriously recommend you go ahead and order one of these. I am now ordering another one, to keep around as a spare (what if I spill another drink into my laptop right before an exam?).Easy to put in. Go to YouTube and search something like "replace dell latitude keyboard" to see numerous helpful demonstration videos.

yep, it works.
Pros:--My daughter pulled the keys off of the last one, so this has been an effective replacement.Cons:--This is the OEM keyboard, so you might need to get someone in IT or otherwise mechanical to replace it for you, so that you don't scratch up or break your laptop--The unit I received had two "2" keys (no "1"). Not a deal breaker, but obviously not ideal.
