They are a bit awkward in length and the tips are a bit pointy for trying to trim close. I had to really pay attention to what I was doing because goats do not like standing still for long.

I grew up around goats so know how sharp trimmers are supposed to be. As an adult with a dog who has super hard nails, I was frustrated by the garbage pet nail trimmers I was finding. So, I tried hoof trimmers. These are super sharp and when used carefully, trim dog nails beautifully without splitting. I have used for over a month to slowly shorten nails that were way overgrown. They have been great! If/when these wear out, i will replace with something similar.

We trim a lot of goat hooves, so I thought I'd give these lower priced trimmers a try. The picture looks a lot like some of the more well-known brands, but the handles are longer and smooth, not textured, so they're not as secure to hang onto. The blade is also longer. For a guy with very large hands trimming a buck with very large feet these might be an okay tool, but for an average person trimming an average goat they were very awkward and difficult to use.

Great product. Cut right through the thick part of my goats foot. Works great and even comes with an extra spring.

I waited to write a review for a couple months to see how it held up (i trim my goat hooves every 2 weeks) they did fine at first - but got dull really quickly and barely cuts now - not sure if people do this but it may be okay if you can sharpen them - i never did and they got dull really quick - save your money and get a better pair that will last.

Great for goat hooves. I’m a beginner at goats and these seem to get the job done, easy to maneuver and nice and sharp. These are a much better alternative to the expensive farm store ones.

Hard to handle. Has a serrated blade that can barely even cut into the hoof. Jams up with the hoof in between the blades.
