Exelent
Literally, razor sharp right out of the box! I was able to cleanly shave hair off my arm. I hope they start making a 24" long Slick. I will buy one of each width from 1 to 3 inches!

Wide chisel
Chisel appears to be well made. One must sharpen the edge. The reverse is not exactly flat, though a bit of stone work will fix it.

Great budget option
Wonderful option for those on a budget. Make sure to remove the clear lacquer from the steel before attempting sharpening. Back flattens quickly, but the bevel is a bit rough.

To get the full experience sharpen every use.
I'm a woodworker have been for a number of years, chisels depending on the steel can be a pain to work with. Not this one sharpening by hand or machine it works. For the width of the chisel I wished that it was a bit longer.

Kakuri 42mm chisel
Very quick shipping. It's my first Japanese chisel. I've got a lot western style chisels and I'm very pleased with my new one. It gets sharp very quickly and keeps the sharpness for long.

Good starter chisels.
For a factory made starter chisel I would recommend these. Sharp enough out of the box to use, but would at least hone them on a strop every so often as used. this might keep them sharp so u wouldn't have to drag out the diamond or stone set so often. Just some advice from my GF, shaved every day with a straight edge and never saw him sharpen any of several he owned. Just dry stropped before every shave.
