The victims were as different as night and day: an exotic dancer, a beloved teacher, and a promising law student. What was the one thing they had in common? A fetish for breath play... Homicide Detective Jillian Robichaux is smart and persistent. When a string of brutal murders hits the Big Easy's ultra-secretive BDSM community and threatens to expose high-profile members of its conservative Southern culture, Jillian rolls up her sleeves and gets to work piecing together the victims' last steps. In her search for the truth, she enlists the expertise of FBI agent, AJ Johnson III. But with each clue they uncover, the deeper Jillian is lured into the underground world of sadomasochism--and into the strong arms of the domineering criminal profiler. Only one question remains. How far will she go? In the world's first provocative thriller of its kind, bestselling author Kat Evans takes you on a heart-pounding race to catch a killer. Review: First Rate - ***No Synopsis*** This book was a fantastic read and I can't wait to dig into more books from this talented author. This will be very difficult to review without any spoilers, but I'll give it a try. This book holds up on three levels. It is a tight crime novel, it is a sexy work of erotica and it is an unexpected romance all at the same time. Ms. Evans did a great job of establishing the sights and sounds of New Orleans. The imagery she used made everything seem really authentic to me and I could see the characters moving about the city on this hunt to find a serial killer. The characters were great. AJ and Jillian are both strong, smart and independent women which makes the Dom/sub dynamic in their relationship very interesting. I really enjoyed watching their relationship deepen throughout the novel and watch how they shifted in and out of their roles; both on the job and in their scenes. I never doubted or questioned that these two characters worked great together. I was very moved by the killer's backstory and like Jillian, I had my own feelings of sympathy for the killer. I think Ms. Evans presented this character in such a way as to invite the reader to ponder what might turn a person into a monster and question if those influences in anyway absolve them of their guilt. This was a great read. It grabbed my interest from the first page (that's an understatement) and it never let up. It's well worth the time and the money. Review: Excelent book. - When I get hooked from the beginning, only my job keeps me from finishing a book. This one was a real treat to read, since it piked my interest in the BDSM topic. Although I don't practice or live the Lifestyle, in my opinion it enriches me intelectually. Is like taking a pick into a subreal world. I found the story thrilling in all aspects. I would definitely seek out more books from this author.

Interesting and tantalizing mix of crime drama and erotica
I don't know how anyone can resist a book with a title like The Domme Tamer. The intrigue begins right from the first pages as we meet Jillian Robichaux, a very bright New Orleans homicide detective that quickly puts together evidence that a serial killer is on the loose using the local BDSM community as their hunting ground. Enter AJ Johnson, a senior FBI profiler and the two begin the arduous task of tracking the killer. The book is split into three sections - Mind, Body, and Soul. We find out what this means to AJ when she explains that as a Domme she has the power to claim you: mind, body, and soul. The book follows this direction as AJ and Jillian decide to go undercover to try to flush out the killer. The erotic entanglement of their working relationship with Jillian's introduction to the Lifestyle is swirled around the sultry Louisiana bayou and mysticism of the Cajun-Creole culture of the history-rich area. Beautifully written, I was riveted to the pages while immersed in the rich culture and totally invested in hoping that Jillian and AJ emerge intact after catching the killer. I highly recommend this fantastic crime drama. Truly a unique and intriguing story that you won't want to put down once you start reading.

Daaaaammnnnnnn!!! That book was on fire! Bloody loved it. Gruesome, hot, suspenseful, erotic, SSC, and just a slew of other adjectives that are as opposing as the killer. 100% recommend, but tread carefully, know your triggers bc all sorts of limits are tested and the past bit everyone involved in this book.

Unapologetic Angel of death
I.... am.. my god... wow. I am speechless. This was a real dose. I feel alive. AJ, wow. I need some of that in my life. Now Rebecca, I don't even know what to say to you my dear. Ps: Either i am slow or the title is not making sense, but either way, this was some good stuff.

Lesbian police procedurel with bdsm
I have complicated feelings for this book. On one hand I am just happy for LGBT and Bdsm stories but this one was a mixed bag for me. I liked Jillian a lot but I really struggled to connect with AJ. Maybe it would have been better if we got more of her perspective? But I think the real reason is the perhaps the story tried to make her so swim worthy and a perfect smart FBI agent. They did this by making all the other characters dumb. Jillian is an experienced police detective and yet they used her and other cops to explain basic police and Bdsm stuff that any laymen who every watched a cop show or any adult person especially an experienced cop should know. Basically the writer speaks down to her audience the readers. They used this to show us how edgey and smart AJ was but I was taken out of the story every time. So all the efforts build Aj up both as a FBI and even as a romantic partner involved a lot of Jillian telling us how great Aj was. And then the relationship issues where largely unresolved. I understand there is a sequel as far as I know but where they ended it was not a good spot. That being said I did like the case itself. I just think the story could have used so work.

Mystery with a healthy dose of romance
This was well written, with an intriguing storyline, and interesting characters. I really liked Jillian, but wish I could have gotten more chapters from AJ’s POV, mostly for more insight into her feelings for Jillian. But overall very enjoyable and hard to put down. I’m always happy to find a mystery/suspense novel that also has a good dose of romance. Recommend.

An erotic yet grisly crime drama
I love reading and watching crime stories. The fact that this one has an erotic edge to it makes it that much better. Very well written, great depth to the characters, and seems to have been well researched. You won't be disappointed if this is your kind of thing.

Erotic Thriller With Added Kink
Serial killer detecting with our two heroines as they try to catch the culprit whilst negotiating their own relationship. Nice mix of detective thriller and hot sex scenes. Would love to read more adventures with AJ and Jillian.
