Rolled Steel Plate 1/4" x 12" x 12" LL8

Got this to extend the life of my Pit Barrel smoker which was starting to develop a rust hole at the bottom. Fits perfect and handles the heat good. Might make for a good target backing for smaller stuff. It's back on my saved for later.

Works great as an extra layer plate in my fireplace insert stove. Helps extend the life of the hearth and enhances emergency cooking applications to keep coals hot longer.

I needed a special size baking steel for my convection oven, and Mail Order Metals cut one 12x18 that is PERFECT. It's thick enough to give abundant bottom heat to pizzas and pitas, and not too heavy to manipulate safely even when hot. The pizzas have nice bottom color, and the pitas all puffed! It accepted seasoning easily and is functionally nonstick. BRILLIANT.Everyone with a shallow convection oven needs one of these. I'm ordering several more so I can bake several pans of crackers at once.Updating: I have had these for 5 years now, and they live in my oven still. I do check their temp with an infrared thermometer because they do take a bit more time to warm up, but since I usually bake a LOT at once (several batches of cookies/crackers/breads primarily), that little extra start time is totally worth it, particularly when the residual heat is so perfect for drying out crackers and crispy cookies at the end of a regular session.

I did some grinding/shaping on the sharp edges to make a pizza steel. Cooks the crust much more fully than a pan.

Solid, cut well, and nice and flat. Just what I was looking for to work up a base plate for a pergola. Good stuff. Very well packaged so that it arrived in very good shape. Better packed than some electronics I’ve received..

seems strange to write a review of a steel plate but when you need it this will work. I had some bent copper sheet that needed straightening. The plate and a hammer did the trick. I don't know if I will ever need it again but it was inexpensive enough that even for this one time it was worth it
