no. it's not an amplifier. it's "only" a dac (digital to analog converter). i suggest you to read the description. 😉

Hi, you run the output of the chromebook USB into the input of the DAC on the back and the output of the DAC rca or headphone and use the volume control to adjust the volume into your stereo. Jeff Woods

Q: Can you connect this to amp using rca cable?

Yes, it provides a stereo RCA line in to connect the external analog audio device, also it comes with the RCA line out for the powered/active speaker monitor (or power amplifier+passive speakers) connection.

Q: Will this work if connected between my pre amp and EQ?

The DAC can be used as the Digital to Analog converter, or the audio preamp, so we are not suggest to connect the DAC between the preamp and EQ, to avoid the possible over peak signal cause the distortion sound or unwanted noise.
