We have lots of friends which kids got ear infections every now and then, we are very concerned about our little one getting an ear infection, she has 15 months now and she havent had a single one. This thing give us extra piece of mind when she is at the pool, it definetely avoids water from splashes getting into her ear, its comofrtable i guess since she can wear it for some time and does not complaint. Lots of people have asked us about it. It definetely meets its purpose. I will definetely buy again when its time for a size change.

When my one-year-old got ear tubes, it became imperative to always keep water out of her ears (especially since, for a while, she kept getting ear infections anyway, after the tubes) - not just in the pool, but for every bath. A fellow parent recommended this product and it's worked perfectly! My daughter still loves her "headband" and I think it's helped her be okay with "ear doodles" too. It stays on unless she decides to pull it off (happens occasionally), which usually indicates she's ready to get out of the tub. She's now three, and when she outgrows this one I'll definitely get another one. If I can afford it, I'll get two so I never risk forgetting it when we travel!

I bought this headband because my 1 yo just had tubes placed in her ears, and we were starting swim classes.The band stays on really well and does cover her ears so her ear plugs don't fall out. But, she hates the whole process of putting in her plugs and then sliding on the band over her head.The band doesn't really keep water out itself, because it's not really made of water proof materials, so you definitely need to have ear plugs as well.I thought the plugs came with the band as other reviewers seemed to suggest, but that's not the case.

If you are thinking this might be something you will buy, I would like to say, buy it! It truly is our life saver! My daughter is a micro preemie born at 25 weeks and has problems with her ears since before coming home from a very long nicu stay. The doctors were concerned she would go deaf. But she finally got the tubes in and things started to get better. The doctor recommended that we purchase this, and after reading so many reviews and waiting for far too long. I finally purchased it. At first she didn’t want to wear it, and tried to remove it. If this is placed properly, your LO will not be able to remove it. But we decided to create a distraction. We put this on and then immediately set her in the bath, and she was so excited. She loves bath time and after getting the tubes in, we had to speed things up and not let her play. And the joy that she had when she realized she could play and splash was just incredible. The material is perfect for soaking up any run away water that is headed for her ears. Keep in mind that this is not to be worn by itself. It is used to keep your choice of protection in the ears. We use cotton balls with vaseline because no ear plugs will fit. But I definitely plan to buy some ear puddy buddies. We bought the small because she is still pretty tiny for her age. She is 18 months actual, 15 adjusted. But wears 6-9 month clothing. But this is so stretchy that I don’t think we will have any problems with her using this for the rest of her time with the tubes. Thank you for changing our bath nights into pure joy!

We purchased this thinking that it would be perfect for our daughter since she had ear tubes in and couldn't get water in her ears. The silicone ear buds kept falling out so we decided to try Mack's Ear Band. After using it a couple of times we noticed that it does not keep water 100% out. We now use it along with the ear buds and it helps keep them in place.

I just can't get it to stay on right. Always sliding off one ear or too far forward.

This product is the solution to the problem with earplugs, in that they fall out. The ear band-it covers the ears and keeps the earplugs in place and allows your child to swim without you having to worry about water getting in their ears. One important point that may not be obvious - these are not intended to be used alone without earplugs. Though it will prevent splashes from entering the ear canals, I wouldn't rely on it if the head is submerged unless earplugs are also in place. My 3yo daughter loves that she can finally swim with her sister.One word about sizing - my daughter just turned 3 and has a small head, and the small band rated for ages 1-3 BARELY fits. I'd consider going with a larger size if your child has a large head or is towards the upper end of the age bracket.

I cannot get my little one to wear this so it just sits in my cupboard.

Looks good (as good as a band can look). Does not slip and keeps earplugs in situ while swimming with grommets.
