Good quality filter with green credentials
I have been after a decent 10 stop ND filter for a while and this one was recommended to me. I had never heard of Gobe before but since my budget couldn't stretch to Lee and I wanted something better (and bigger) than the Cokin I had been using I decided to give it a go. The filter comes in a protective tin inside a light card box. You get a small, good quality cleaning cloth also in a cardboard sleeve. In addition you get the pleasure of knowing that several trees are being planted on your behalf in endangered areas of the world. You have to register on their website to do this, and to be honest, it's a bit of a faff.Getting back to the filter. It seems to be decently made, screwing on my 82mm Sigma lens thread without cross threading or sticking. The quality is first rate and the ND10 rating seems to be quite accurate. See the attached pic for a result. Gobe do a small range of filters in various sizes, 82mm being the largest, all screw in. You should buy the biggest size you need and invest in a set of stepping rings rather than go for any of the smaller sizes. This is a good filter and I have no hesitation in recommending it.

Great filter at a great price.
I had long wanted to take some long exposure shots with a 10 stop filter and having used two previous filters by Gobe, I knew their quality to be excellent. I am happy to say that this one was no exception. From the premium build quality to the beautiful presentation, you get the feeling that Gobe know their business and have a genuine desire to provide not only value for money but great results to. All the usual features are there that I have come to expect from Gobe - the quality hard plastic case and foam molded insert to keep your filter well protected, the complimentary cleaning cloth which is a god send, the machined metal frame to the filter and the quality, coated finish glass which does the magic!I have included two quick sample photos taken in an attempt to demonstrate what this filter can achieve (probably much more in more skilled hands!). The first shot was without the filter at f11 and a shutter speed of 1/80 th of a second. With the filter on, it needed 13 seconds. In broad daylight! Amazing. The water in the image with the 1000 filter on is lovely and smooth, with that misty feel you get from a long exposure. For those that have mentioned colour cast being effected, you have to remember that a 1000 filter is tricking the camera into thinking the light conditions are completely different to what they are, in order to get the longer exposure. This is something you have to factor for when composing your shot or in post and is not the fault of the lens. I can genuinely say that I am delighted with this filter from Gobe and would highly recommend it.

Great lens, well packaged, ECO friendly, quality glass and no distortion/tinting.
Recently purchased this, having no experience what so ever with filters as im mostly a portrait photographer. With that in mind, after purchasing this i received an email telling me i had planted 5 tree's and where. Im not an ECO guy (i always recycle etc but i'm not overly interested in it, guilty as charged!!) but this did actually make me feel pretty good. This item came beautifully packaged in a secure and small box, clearly made out of recycled material yet still managed to look and feel great.I also purchased a Polariser from GOBE at the same time and immediately added this filter to the filter stack that came with the PL, thanks to the double threading its easy to keep all your filters in this stack.I tested this product today; just outside my window as it was a bright day...The results look great on my 24-70mm Canon L lens..no distortion, vignetting or colour tints you can often get on wide angle lenses from the variables. I will be testing this lens in depth on a landscape photography trip in the end of April and will edit this with pictures as they will be used a lot.

Great glass, only a little blueish
This ND1000/10 stop filter works brilliantly for me using my entry-level Panasonic mirrorless camera. It screws into most of my lenses, and I can use step down filters for my kit-lens, so no issue there! The glass is great with no distortions as far as I can tell, but I find that when using the filter everything has a very slighter cooler, blueish tint - even when I manually set white balance before hand. This is easily overcome in post processing though, or in camera by manually setting white balance a little warm.Presented in a lovely box that’s a little large considering that the company claim to be eco-friendly! I’ve since recycled the box and carry the filter in a pouch instead.

Does what it says on the tin (literally)
Comared with the competition this filter is a bargain. As far as I can see there is little or no colour cast even on very long exposures. Although it's rated as 10 stop I suspect that it is slightly more, 11 stops maybe. There is also no noticeable loss of sharpness in the final mage. It certainly gets the results that you expect. The filter seems well made from quality materials and is nicely packed in a metal tin. As a bonus, Gobe plant 5 trees for every filter they sellIt's safe to say I'm very pleased with this especially after some bad experiences wiht cheap drop-in ND filters so I can't recommend this too highly. I've added some additional ND filters as a result. Can't fault this. The posted image is of course B & W but was processed in colour as well, it was a 30 second f14 exposure.
