Exceeding Expectations.
Was Skeptical At First, Due Entirely To Other Reviews About The Pad. As Soon As It Arrived (When It Said It Would) I Immediately Took It Out Of It’s Secured Packaging To Test The Pad. Right From The Box, It Worked Without A Hitch. Just Plug N’ Play. No USB Slot (Thankfully). Very Responsive, It Does Slide On Carpet, But I Expected As Such. If You’re Interested In Buying A Pad, You Can’t Go Wrong With This One. For The Price And Packaging Alone, Is Worth It. It Doesn’t Feel Cheap, And The Cord Is A Generous Length. 5/5 Would Buy Again!

Leave it out of the package for a day or 2 to air out as smells like chemicals
Looks just like the photos and just like the dance pad I had when I played the game when it 1st came out. Right out of the package it has a chemical smell so leave it out for a few days to air out before using. Works exactly as it should and the game is as fun as I remember!

Nice dance pad
I purchased this dance pad for a charity streaming event. I needed something that wouldn't break the bank but would still serve the purpose of getting people to donate money so they could play a DDR song. The controller response is accurate and the pad is designed well. Yes, it is more slippery than pads I've used in the past and the grip stickers they include don't do much. I just readjusted the pad after each game and later I bought some grip tape that is intended for rugs and it doesn't move at all now.

Ok pad
Got this to replace my Red Octane one that died. It took quite a while to break in - lots of crunching noises from a layer inside. But that's gone after a month or two of use.The pad still doesn't always register when I hit it - I think it is worst with the down arrow, but happens with others at times, too.

Slides around and is not responsive
I Bought this mat along with the Konami DDR Supernova2 Bundle (in order to get a total of 2 mats). The mat in the Konami bundle works well. This one does not. The Konami mat has a rubbery bottom surface that does not slide or warp as you dance. This one slides all around and bunches up while dancing. The plastic material is thin and slick and is the same on top and bottom. The kids say you have to stomp harder to get it to register. The bad materials basically make it impossible to dance on successfully. Kids scoring a perfect on the Konami mat will fail on this mat. Move along, this is not the mat you are looking for...

Just what I was looking for..
Many of the other reviews mention the cord missing a prong, which does seem to be true when you look at it, however the original PlayStation controller I have is missing the same prong. The mat works great. It plugs in fine and the buttons are easy to push (do not need to stomp on them as I have experienced in the past). This mat is relatively inexpensive, which is nice, and clearly brand new. The only negative thing is the overwhelming plastic manufacturing smell. You can literally taste it as take it out of the box. I left it outside overnight and them smell seems to have gone away for the most part. Overall, I am very glad I decided to buy this mat and will most likely be buying another sometime in the near future - when it is safe to host gatherings again and what not.

Just Like I Remember!
I was hesitant to buy this mat due to the negative reviews. I usually don’t write reviews but I don’t want someone else to be discouraged like I was. If you played DDR back when it first came out on the PS2, this will bring you back to those days. (I’m playing DDR Extreme 2 - the blue game) Yes, the mat is a little slippery, but it doesn’t make the game unplayable. This mat is worth the purchase.

Slippery dancepad
If you're looking for a dancemat like the original konami ones for the PS2, this is not it. Save yourself the hassle and look elsewhere. As the title suggests, the mat is quite slippery to use because it lacks the antislip material inside the mat that the original mats had. This doesn't necessarily make a huge difference when you play the 1 step every two second songs in DDR, but once the songs pick up speed, aka anything above beginner difficulty, you'll feel the top layer of the mat slip on the lower layer when you hit the arrows at a slight angle, making it hard to trust and easy to hurt yourself because of sudden slips. That aside it feels precise when hitting the arrows, though I have noticed some 'ghost steps' hitting when there's a break in the steps.I'd only recommend this mat if you're either:1) Not planning to play any fast songs2) Not afraid to hurt yourself when you slip ( and you WILL slip)3) Really nostalgic about DDR4) close enough to not pay out the nose for freight.
