Malone MicroSport Trailer Retractable Tongue Kit

Easy enough to install and saves so much storage space in the garage. Highly recommended.

Works EXACTLY as described, and shortens the trailer by a good amount for easy storage. The instructions were simple to follow and the modifications to the trailer wiring harness were minimal and easy to do.

The media could not be loaded.  Does what it’s made for but adds a lot of play, wobble, to the tongue (see the video). It does save space.

If you own a Malone trailer do yourself a favor and buy this. You retract the tongue and stand the trailer on end against a wall in your garage and regain all that space!

This is a must if you have the Malone trailer. This allows me to shrink my trailer enough that I can stand it up in my garage and park a car in front of it. :-)If you're thinking of getting this when you buy your trailer I would suggest you don't follow the installation instructions for the wiring exactly. I wired mine up so I could pull the trailer with the tongue extended or left shortened. I used the extra wiring harnesses that came with this kit so I could have an extra connection in the front and rear of the trailer. All you'll need to do is to cut, splice and make a few more connections to the wiring as written in the instructions.

Used for hailing a Hobie Pro Angler 14 kayak. Didn't even have to reduce all the way due to the kayak overhang on the front of the trailer. Added about 4' of space to the area behind the trailer allowing it to fit in the garage better. A little right at first sliding the tongue of the trailer. Figured out setting the trailer up on a jack stand right below where this new drop bracket mounts, allows easier sliding of the tongue by yourself.

This trailer is awesome. Rides great with 4 kayaks or with just 2. We paid Fishing Tackle Unlimited to put it together.

After assembling the trailer and the Retractable Tongue Kit, I discovered the various wiring harnesses don't fit together. After being told by Malone to 'cut away part of the plug to make it fit', that solution did not work. At this point, I have a trailer with no lights that can't be licensed. You would think that someone at Malone trailers would ensure their various components actually work together before they ship them and then tell the customer to make repairs themselves to make it work.
