Seems to work
I have a two layer worm bin and I noticed during the colder months my worms would try and escape, this is my first time having a worm bin so Iām learning as I go in a sense. I noticed these and figured might as well try them. I cut the āblanketā into the appropriate size for my worm bin and the worms are much more active and I even see a few just laying on top. I also noticed a lot of worm eggs! They have just started chewing some holes in it but it still has awhile until they completely go through it all, I still have leftover āblanket fabricā to make some more.

Helps with fungus gnats
This worm blanket has helped me with my fungus gnat issue. I use European night crawlers (which like cooler climates) the blanket entices them to compost my scraps at the surface of my worm bag even at hot temperatures when they usually would be at the bottom of the bag. The center of my mat was weak and ripped over time but itās not really an issue.

Long lasting, works well, but also petroleum smell, oversized
I used this Urban Worm Blanket to cover the top tray of soil & worms in my Worm Factory 360 Composting Bin. You will need some kind of top cover to control moisture, and this one works well. Pros: 1. Easy to use. Just soak it in a bucket of water, wring out the excess, and plop into your worm farm. Dampen the mat as needed with a mister or a simple jug of water splashed onto it. 2. Long lasting. I tried making a mat of my own out of natural cotton quilt batting, which worked, but it lasted only 2-3 months before the worms ATE it. This item also biodegrades, but it takes a lot longer, maybe 6-12 months, depending on the outside temperature and how active the worms are. Cons: 1. It smells like gasoline when you open it up. It's supposedly all natural coconut fiber, so I don't know how that odor gets in it. I rinse it out well to make sure it doesn't kill the worms. 2. It's too big for my Worm Factory 360 Composting Bin. I have to fold it on 2 sides to make it fit.

Works as intended
It arrived with an odd smell, almost chemical. It reminded me of something from my military days. I let it sit out for a while, and it cleared up.Mine did come with a rip and a hole in it. I was cutting mine in half, so I was able to cut around them. The worms just finished the first half and it lasted seven months! There are still some chunks of it left, but the worms will make quick work of it.I do appreciate the educational videos posted online, so I like to support them. I also see that the price is cheaper than what I paid, so I am placing another order.Yes, you can use newspapers, but if you want to spoil your babies, this is the way!

Smells like diesel fuel
Needed replacement blankets for my large Subpods. They're nowhere near as thick or solid as the ones that came with the Subpod and have a strong diesel smell -- even a month after being in the bins. The search continues for a true, 100% jute worm blanket.

Good help for my worm bin.
I was able to cut it to fit the size of the top of my worm bin. Keeps the worms moist; not as likely to dry out top of mixture.

My worms seem to love it
The worms seem happy and I feel like I'm getting better coverage than I was with just torn-up paper.
