SERIOUS PIG | Gourmet Snack Hamper | with Crunchy Cheese, Cured Pork, Pickles, Crisps, and Corn Scratchings. Delicious Savoury Pub Snacks (21 Packets)

I looked at these snacks before and after placing the order cancelled as I felt they were far too expensive. On reconsideration I thought it was unfair to judge them without trying so I ordered again.I would class these as being marketed as ‘gourmet’ pub snacks but to be honest some of the items seriously lacked any flavour or impact in my opinion.They come in a plain cardboard packaging with a sticker to seal which wasn’t secure when arrived.When you open the box the snacks are inside another sealed piece of paper with serious pig 🐖 printed over it. They don’t give an initial wow impact they just appear to be normal snacks. The packaging for the actual snacks was wasteful compared to snacks inside.Dates ranged from April to May 2023 depending on snack, not a long shelf life considering I purchased in Feb 23. The cheese snacks and pickles where Nov 23 and Dec 23.However, I felt I would leave the overall review until I had least sampled a few of the items. It does give a decent variety of snacks but it definitely doesn’t feel that this contained anything close to the £30 marketed value.So onto the taste taste, please note that the sampling was done over several days and not in one serious binge session.Crunchy Snacking Cheese, the plain ones. There was a strong flavour, definitely cheese 🧀 , but the same could be achieved by making a Parmesan chip at home. Nothing that stood out as unique.Then we tried the snacking pickles, I put mine in the fridge as I wanted them colder but can be eaten as is. These were exactly what you would expect, good size, pickled and full of flavour, but again nothing unique in my opinion.Feeling like some fresh air and a long walk might improve the ambience for snacking we headed of and took the Spicy Snackalami. When initially opened it doesn’t look the most appealing, it looks dried out and plasticky. The taste wasn’t far removed from this either, it was dry, like a piece of very dried greasy bacon rind. It tasted unpleasant and had no spice or the promised flavours advertised on packaging. Disappointing.We later tried the hand cooked sausage flavoured crisps. These were quite nice, a decent thickness, full of flavour and moreish. The taste lingers on your palette, best part of the selection so far.The corn scratchings had a small tear in the package which I was worried would affect the flavour. They were similar to other corn snacks I have had with a slight salty taste. They are tough and crunchy, be wary of the teeth. The almonds were as expected also, but to be honest I have had better.Overall, from what we have sampled so far it was a little disappointing in terms of flavour and taste for the high price for the contents of 21 items. To be honest, I’m a little disappointed, I had high hopes for these but alas it was not to be.My favourite item from the whole set was the sausage flavoured crisps so my advice is skip everything else and purchase the crisps alone.

This was a very nice selection of snacks from SERIOUS PIG however.Pro's:Good taste and variety in packCon's:Price too high, so will not be a regular thing at all (what a shame)Contains the Preservatives (Sodium Nitrite) which for me is a BIG migraine trigger and IMHO pointless as the "curing" process is to preserve the meat anyway.

As this was a Xmas present for somebody I was a little disappointed with the dates on the sourdough products. Ours had approx 6 weeks shelf life! The rest of the stuff seems to ok as these have 3 to 10 months.The best part 30 quid I feel was a little pricey baring in mind some of the best before dates.

Not what i expected disappointed wont order again and over priced

I bought this for a present and advised the taste of most products is good but there are a number of bags of flavoured croutons that are too hard to eat and snacking chillis also too hot to eat but that can be down to taste

Few bags of crisps are keto but that's it.

So a proper review of this productClassic Snacking Salami: 7/10 Tasty nice, meat lovers will enjoy "leveled up pepperami"Chill & Paprika Snacking Salami: 7.5/10 Much like above but a bit nicerClassic Snackingham: 6/10 nothing wrong with it and a nice treat and easy to much on.Juniper & Star Anise Snackingham : 8/10 OK THIS IS GOOD! The juniper and Star anise give a really indepths flavour and if you like gin trendy things you will like this.Pork Crackling Snackling Sea Salted: 6.5/10 sort of crackling fries, taste nice but not sure I like them shape and texture wise but not bad.Pork Crackling Snackling with Crunchy Red Apple: 8.5/10 now my issue with the above is balenced out with the slightly softer sweet apple which is near perfectly balanced combination.Pork Crackling Snackling with Smoked Bacon 6.5/10 much the same as the sea salted and for me the flavour wasn't that distinct but perfectly pleasnt.Cornish Sea Salted Peanuts / Roasted Almonds : 7/10 These are nuts....not much more needs saying, Bloody good nuts...but nuts :DSnacking Pickles Gherkins: 7.5/10 Sweet, sharp, little burst in the mouth fantastic on their own or with items from this set.Crunchy Snacking Cheese: 9/10 WOW THESE ARE CHEESY and good and seriously try these!!!!!Crunchy Snacking Cheese with Rosemary: 9.8/10 As above but beautifully balenced with Rosemary.Crunchy Snacking Cheese with Truffle: 11/10 Stop reading, buy this box, just SMELL this bag, enjoy.Overall this is a fantastic set for meat and cheese lovers, give it a go and enjoy (I know I did ^^)

My box actually contained 17 items. Only 1 pickle bag, but 2 each of the 3 salami packs (which each contain 2 salamis in them, so 12 sticks in all)All very delicious - the salamis are great, much nicer than the pepperami most people are familiar with. I think the croutons are my favourite, by a whisker - nicely flavoured and crisp. The crunchy cheese is a snack I've never had before - very nice, and I would have it again, but I can ony eat half a bag at a time, as they are very rich.I bought this for "snacks over Christmas", and I am very happy with it. I would definitely buy again - either this box, or individual items.
