easy to read/use, very effective workbook
Easy to read/use, very effective workbook. Helps to get get at the underlying pain/stress, provacative situations, and trigger thoughts that lead to anger. Also good relaxation techniques and how to help inoculate yourself from, what turned out in my case at least, the "automatic" anger response. Make sure you make copies of the worksheets and write EVERYTHING down, then you can go back and you may see a pattern start to emerge. I was amazed at what lies beneath my own anger and rage.I also read Anger Management For Everyone: Seven Proven Ways to Control Anger, by Tefrate, et. al. After I went through the book and did the exercises, I felt I needed a little more help. Then I read and began doing the exercises in The Anger Control Workbook. For the first time in my life, I am starting to understand why I react the way I do. In my own experience, I found the two books to compliment each other in the order given above. While nothing is a sure deal to permanently "cure" me from angry outbursts, I was able to see progress in myself almost immediately, starting from Chapter 3. What resulted was a fasinating self-awareness of myself and much-needed peace!

Recommended by My Therapist
My therapist recommended this book and it helped identify the sources of anger. After a while, however, I stopped using it probably because I got the medication I needed and no longer needed to control my angry outbursts.

Life changing!
I think this book is amazing and can do wonders for anyone who really wants to make an effort and sticks with the book. Early on, you see how your anger affects others, and you gain other perspectives. The activities in the book are wonderful, and it's very hands on as well as some informative reading. If you have anger issues enough to consider you might want to change, you're going to need some help doing it. This book is perfect. Not the price of a good therapist, but it can still help and change you're life if you're willing to accept it's not something you can do overnight and requires work. It made a difference in my life.

My favorite anger workbook
I'm a psychologist who likes to provide reading recommendations to those wishing to do independent work outside of our sessions. This is my favorite workbook for anger by far. My clients find it to be approachable and user-friendly. I like the evidence-based cognitive behavioral techniques it employs, ensuring there is scientific backing for the suggestions made in the book. Most importantly, my clients who have read this book in conjunction with counseling services have had great outcomes. I believe it would make a good stand-alone book as well, for those not interested in counseling at this time.

Perfect workbook for anger of all roots
Best workbook ever. I admit I had Highhope's and expectations and they were fully met. While not every page applied, the ones that did really hit home and got me thinking about why I responded the way I do, what it does to the people around me, and finally gave me great strategies on what to do with the anger. Anger is OK – – it's simply how you choose to deal with it. Highly recommend

Great Book
This book is fantastic. Just what I wanted. Straightforward, sympathetic and yet highlighting the dangers of not doing anything about this destructive habit. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants more than just a book to read, but a book he/she can work with - plenty of forms to fill in, diaries to keep and useful strategies - it makes me feel I am actually doing something positive for a change. I agree that this is not the only thing that needs to be done but it is a start. I agree that anyone with this kind of problem should also see their Doctor for help.

Practically very useful
Anyone who would like to manage their frustrations with less drama and more efficiency will find this book useful, as long as workbooks are your thing. There is plenty to read in it as well, but most of the pages are devoted to structuring exercises to practice what you've read. I used it first ten years ago, and I use the things it taught me most days.
