I intially was introduced to this boxcutter when it was issued at my job. Over the course of time, I lost my original one and I was lucky to find it here on Amazon. I have used several boxcutters in the past and while it may not sound like it matters, this guy being designed specifically for left-handed people is a great feature. I can easily tuck this guy into my side pouch and quickly access it without having to fumble around with it from my right side. Likewise, the built-in tape cutter is great, but I took it a step further by taking a file and giving it a bit of an edge so that it can cut through thicker packing tape better. I see myself continuing to use this guy for years to come, it is a solid design and as a unit, there is nothing that is either not replaceable or able to be swapped out. My one slight grievance comes about with changing the blades. When you first get one, I would suggest practicing because it does take some effort. This is since the way you change the blade is by sending the blade into the fully locked out position and then grabbing the blade itself and twisting it out. This sounds easy enough but putting in a new blade is the challenge as this usually ends up with you either dropping your replacement blade or having to fuss around with it as sometimes they don't like to seat properly in the box cutter. But this is a minor thing you don't have to worry about too often as the blades that Pacific Handy makes for these last a long time, roughly 2-3 months of continuous use. This is coming from someone who uses the cutter daily to break down thick grocery store backroom boxes as well as occasionally cut various packing films. The film cutter in the back of the knife is good and all, but it takes two hands to pull out and in the process you have to lock the primary blade back. This is ok sometimes, but if you are in a hurry, I find it easier to just use the main blade. Overall, thanks to its low price, sturdy feel and high endurance blades, I feel that the Pacific Handy S5L is definitely a great purchase, especially when you compare it to more expensive cutters by companies like Husky, Fiskars, and the random no name brand cutters.

I used this at my previous job for several years and we was pleased to find it on Amazon. It works great and has everything I need for opening boxes and cutting pallet wrap. It does not come with extra blades but was able to find a pack here as well. Just make sure you get the correct size.

This is one of the best purchases I have ever made. I cannot believe how well thought out this product is, the quality of the materials used and how cheap it is. I am a "you get what you pay for" kinda guy so expected this to not live up its description or to fall apart after a few uses. I have now had it for quite a while and it still operates as good as it did the day I bought it. One of the best products on Amazon, hands down.

This cutter is awesome, it’s very safe to use compared to the other cutters/blades I used to carry. It has great features that will assist me in my everyday cutting and opening of boxes. I bought this while working retail over the holidays. Everyone at our store fought over the box cutters as there were never enough. I decided to buy the same brand the store used and I was very happy with this! I was excited to see a left handed version, and the film cutter was a nice touch. The only downside was the metal on the tape splitter bent slightly when I was too rough on it one day at work, however I bent it back easily. I’m a knife guy, so I appreciate having the right tool. Using a box cutter with a tape splitter is far safer and easier than a pocket knife.

This specific model of box cutters is what my workplace uses. We're all given one, but they tend to float around and get lost. This is a cheap replacement and insanely high quality!!!Update- I misplaced the first box cutter, and it was hell on earth trying to do my work without it!! Ordered this second replacement and it came the very next day!
