Pulled out those long nails
The previous owner of our house built this platform in the bedroom. We wanted to take it down as honestly it was so annoying having two floor levels in the same room.. a big hazard for my toes. Anyway, he had made a solidly built platform and don't ask how many nails we had to pull out. After doing a bit of research I saw many people recommended to get a nail puller - aka cats paw. At lowes we bought one but it didn't work out so well for us. We were having a hard time pulling out the nails and the more nails head broke then we managed to pull out.I saw this on amazon and noticed it was longer and seemed more sturdy. So decided to give it a try. Wow, you hammer this under the nail head and it would start to lift the nail slight and we could pull it out. Made the job a lot more bearable to do.PS and I am a girl so if i found it easy to use - any guy should find it a breeze :)

First Impressions are great
Haven't had a chance to use this a ton yet, but when I did use it, I was very impressed. We've been retrofitting out house's crawlspace with floor leveling screw jacks, which requires removal of the old 4x6 redwood blocks on each of our house's concrete piers. Our crawlspace ranges from about 18" - 30" so you don't have much room to operate. When I took this guy under the house and tried to start pulling 3" nails, it was like taking them out of soft butter. The claws could practically be inserted into these redwood blocks without hammering it in, they are so sharp! Even lying on my back and having to pull at very awkward angles, the nails would come out very easily. My older nail puller, I would pretty much have to pull with 2 hands with all my might and even had to try and hammer the side of it to get nails out. No more with this guy, left handed awkward angle, no problem, nails come right out. Great tool, it saves time and energy!

Limited Lifespan But Worth It.
The 14" puller is one of the few on the market with a long handle and wide enough groove to pull larger framing nails (20 D). They can take a beating for a while but teeth will eventually break.

Does Amazon warehouse always bend products?
The Speed Square I bought for the first time, but why is it all bent when it's delivered from Amazon warehouse? Anyway, it looks very strong, you'll know more if you use it more. I'm satisfied if it's a little bent. Amazon, please take good care of your stuff. Have a nice day :)

Galvanized Nails Are Kryptonite!
I absolutely loved this cat's paw for the 5 months it was intact. It was the best nail puller I've ever owned. Then, one day, I went to pull a galvanized 16d nail and one of the puller's two teeth popped off. I was shocked since this is a hefty tool. I was also really disappointed; it was a great tool, ruined. My coworker had the exact same thing happen to his smaller Shark puller. I have another brand of cat's paw that I've had for about 7 years and it's still going strong. While I liked the Shark better, the fact that it didn't last will probably stop me from buying another one.

Works great
I had to dismantle an old deck and the tools I had were not up to pulling out the deeply imbedded nails. I got the nails started with this tool and then used a four foot wrecking bar to complete the task.

I liked it while it lasted is why it doesn't get a 1 star review. One of the teeth broke after about 7 months. I am a carpenter and this item was used frequently. I use a larger 24 oz estwing hammer and it took the abuse for 7 months. I'm now trying out another brand. Some of the guys I've worked with have had their cats paws for many years, not months. After purchasing a second one, thinking it might last longer, it broke at 7 months again. The design is great, it bites into wood nicely and pulls larger nails, but, it's not hardened properly for professional use.

The best one
I went through 3 of these before I found one which would last the whole project. This one was the best holding the sharp edge the longest.
